オメガのレジェンド、スピードマスターRef.105.003です。１世代前のRef.2998との違いは、時分針がアルファからバータイプに。後のRef.145.012との違いは、リューズガードが無くラグがストレートで、無骨な雰囲気のケース形状をしています。搭載ムーブメントCal.321。ピラーホイール式のため、コスト高で、チラネジテンプに巻き上げヒゲと高級仕様です。ブレスレットは同年式のフォースナーを装備しており、アストロスタイルです。アーカイブが付属します。

ベゼルは写真の通り小傷がありますが、フェード感が良い雰囲気です。ケースは大きな打痕などみられず、プロポーションが良いです。ダイヤルは傷がみられず、良い状態を維持しています。夜光塗料は経年により一部変色して雰囲気が出ています。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、パワーリザーブ44時間、日差プラス11秒を計測しています。ビデオを掲載しています。

Ref.105.003は、スピードマスターの歴史の中で特別な存在です。 1964年に厳格なNASAテストを受け、最終的に1965年3月1日に承認されました。ジェミニミッションで宇宙飛行士たちに選ばれた時計でもあったため、その中の一人「エドホワイト」のニックネームになりました。

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名な話。

Here we have the legendary Omega, the Speedmaster Ref.105.003. The notable difference from the previous model, Ref.2998, is the change in the hour and minute hands from Alpha to Baton type. Compared to the successor Ref.145.012, this model lacks crown guards, featuring a straight lug and a robust case shape. It houses the Cal.321 movement, known for its high-cost construction with a column wheel and a Breguet hairspring. Equipped with a Forceps bracelet from the same year, giving it an Astro-style look. The package includes an archive.

The bezel shows minor scratches, as seen in the photos, adding a desirable faded appearance. The case is free from significant scratches, maintaining a well-proportioned structure. The dial is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches. The luminescent paint has experienced some discoloration over time, contributing to a unique atmosphere. We have conducted a complete disassembly and cleaning, confirming a power reserve of 44 hours and a daily deviation of plus 11 seconds. A video is available for your reference.

The Ref.105.003 holds a special place in the history of the Speedmaster. It underwent rigorous NASA tests in 1964 and was officially certified on March 1, 1965. Selected by astronauts for Gemini missions, it earned the nickname of "Ed White" after one of the astronauts who wore it.

While today the equation "Speedmaster equals space" is firmly established, initially, it was conceived as a purely motorsports-oriented timepiece with no connection to space. The Speedmaster was the first watch globally to display a tachymeter on the outer bezel rather than the dial. In 1959, it underwent a minor change with the bezel transitioning to an aluminum black base, and the hands changing from Arrow to Alpha shape, improving visibility. NASA sought a robust chronograph capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of space, and the Speedmaster, having triumphed over many competitors, was officially adopted as the space agency's watch. Its historic moment came during the 1969 moon landing, where it was famously worn by astronauts.
