50年間にわたって製造され続けたスピードマスターだからこそ、マイナーチェンジを繰り返し、その細かなディティールの変化を見つける楽しみがあります。それこそがロングセラーである理由のひとつです。製造期間が長かったRef.145.022ですが、特にステップダイヤルを備えたモデルにこだわると、年式がかなり絞られます。立体感のあるダイヤルと、ツイストラグのコンビネーションは、ムーンウォッチならではの特徴です。ケースバックには「ストレートライン」と呼ばれる人気の刻印が施されています。ブレスレットはRef.1116、エンドリンク575が装備されています。

ケースのプロポーションは非常に優れ、ツイストラグのエッジがしっかりと立っています。小傷は少なく、全体的に素晴らしい状態が保たれています。ダメージを受けやすいベゼルは、グレーにフェードし、独特の雰囲気を醸し出しています。ダイヤルはパーフェクトな状態で、目立つダメージは一切見当たりません。針のホワイトプリントには劣化が見られず、インデックスは美しいベージュに変色しています。黒焼けしていない点は非常に評価されるポイントです。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

「Speedmaster＝宇宙」という図式が広く知られていますが、当初は宇宙とは無関係で、純粋にモータースポーツ用のクロノグラフとして誕生しました。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界初の時計としても知られています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジを受け、ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースに変更され、針もアロー針からアルファ針に変わり、視認性が大幅に向上しました。NASAは過酷な宇宙環境に耐えるクロノグラフを求め、スピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後、1969年に人類初の月面着陸を記録した際、スピードマスターが着用されていたことは非常に有名です。

The Speedmaster, with a production span of over 50 years, offers enthusiasts the pleasure of discovering subtle changes in detail due to its numerous minor updates. This enduring appeal is one reason for its long-lasting success. The 145.022 model, while one of the longer-produced Speedmasters, narrows its production era significantly when considering only those with the highly sought-after stepped dial. The combination of a three-dimensional dial and twisted lugs is a hallmark exclusive to the Moonwatch design. The case back features the popular “Straight Line” engraving.

The case boasts impressive proportions, with minimal signs of wear and sharp-edged twisted lugs. The bezel, often prone to damage, remains vibrant with a deep black tone. The dial is flawless, free from any noteworthy damage, and the white paint on the hands shows no signs of deterioration. The indices have aged to a rich beige, a highly valued color change, and remain free of any darkening. This piece has been fully disassembled and serviced in-house.

While “Speedmaster” now instantly evokes images of space, it was initially designed purely as a motor racing watch, with no association with space exploration. The Speedmaster was also the world’s first watch to feature a tachymeter scale on the bezel rather than on the dial. In 1959, the Speedmaster underwent a minor redesign, with its bezel changing to a black aluminum base and its hands shifting from arrow-shaped to alpha, enhancing legibility. When NASA sought a robust chronograph capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of space, the Speedmaster was chosen as the official watch after outlasting other strong contenders. It became famously known for accompanying astronauts during the first lunar landing in 1969.
