12時位置に設けられた扇型のパワーリザーブ・インジケーターが象徴的な、セイコー初の国産自動巻モデルRef.14040。1955年に登場したこの機構は、当時まだ主流だった手巻き時計との差異を視覚的に示す目的で導入されたもので、ゼンマイの巻き上がり具合をダイヤル上で直感的に把握できるユニークな設計です。14金張りのケースが与えられた本モデルは、当時の高級機にふさわしい質感を備えており、日本製自動巻時計の黎明期を象徴する一本です。

ダイヤルはごくわずかな経年変化が見られるものの、インジケーターを含め全体の視認性は高く保たれています。ケースは小傷程度の使用感はありますが、14KGFの輝きと輪郭の美しさが良好に維持されています。裏蓋の刻印は鮮明で、リューズ操作や自動巻き機構の動作もスムーズです。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。
