COMMENT

ダイヤルはホワイトで、ブレゲ数字とクサビ型インデックスの内側にチャプターリングが配され、中央部の膨らみによって立体感が強調されたデザインです。12時位置にはパワーリザーブインジケーターを備えており、このモデルの最大の特徴となっています。針は夜光なしのアルファ型で、チャプターリングの上を走ります。ケースはステンレススチール製で、シームレスに繋がるラグやスクリューバック構造など、外装面でも見どころの多い仕上がりです。

ケースは小傷こそ見られるものの、ラグの繊細なエッジがしっかりと保たれており、全体としてシャープな印象を保っています。ダイヤルは年代を考慮すると驚くほど良好なコンディションで、針・インデックスに目立つ劣化はなく、光にかざすとローズゴールドに美しく輝きます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

Cal.481は1948年から1959年まで製造されたバンパー式の自動巻ムーブメントであり、1951年には後継機としてCal.497を搭載したフューチャーマチックが発表されました。自動巻き技術が発展していく過程において、本モデルはルクルトの革新性と実用性を併せ持つ重要な存在であり、当時の技術的挑戦が息づく一本です。ヴィンテージでありながらも現代的な機能性を備えた本作は、同社の歴史を体感できる貴重なモデルです。

＜JAEGER LE COULTRE（ジャガー・ルクルト）＞は、現在も個性的なモデルを数多く製造し続けるマニュファクチュール。かつては、他の名門メーカー（ヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン、オーデマピゲ、パテックフィリップ、カルティエ等）にもムーブメントやパーツ等のエボーシュを供給していました。始まりは1833年、スイスの小さな工房から。「科学によって立つ」という信念のもと、信頼ある機械・製造ラインを作ることに力を入れ、時計の中心地であったスイスで、高級ブランドに時計の機械・部品製造の先端を行く供給元に成長しました。＜レベルソ＞を代表する自社ブレンドモデルなど、現在では数少ない自社生産のマニファクチュールブランドです。

COMMENT

The dial features a white base with a chapter ring nestled between applied Breguet numerals and wedge-shaped indices. The slightly domed center lends the dial an elegant three-dimensionality. A power reserve indicator is positioned at 12 o’clock—this model’s most distinctive feature. The hands are luminous-free alpha types that sweep gracefully across the chapter ring. The stainless steel case boasts smoothly integrated lugs and a screw-down caseback, offering refined construction and subtle complexity in its exterior design.

Though minor surface scratches are visible, the case retains its sharp profile, with the delicate edges of the lugs remaining well-defined. The dial is in remarkably good condition for its age, showing no notable deterioration on the hands or indices. When tilted in the light, these elements shimmer in an elegant rose gold tone. The watch has been fully serviced by our workshop.

The Cal. 481, a bumper automatic movement, was produced from 1948 to 1959. In 1951, it was succeeded by the Cal. 497, featured in the iconic Futurematic. This model stands as a testament to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s pursuit of innovation and functionality during a pivotal period in automatic movement development. While vintage in origin, its practical features and thoughtful design speak to the technical ambition of its time—making it a historically significant and collectible timepiece.

BRAND

Jaeger-LeCoultre remains one of the few true manufactures in the Swiss watch industry, creating its own movements and components in-house. The brand’s history dates back to 1833, beginning as a small atelier committed to precision engineering under the guiding principle of “science as foundation.” Over the decades, Jaeger-LeCoultre became a key movement supplier to leading houses such as Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and Cartier. Today, the brand continues to be revered for signature creations like the Reverso, as well as its ongoing dedication to technical mastery and refined design.
