キングセイコーの最高峰である44クロノメーターの中でも、こちらは1965年10月に製造された個体です。後期モデルにあたるRef.4420-9990では、ブロック体で記された “Chronometer” 表記が、この製造時期ならではの特徴です。ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ仕上げ、ソリッドなバーインデックスにドルフィンハンドを組み合わせた、クラシカルかつ端正なデザイン。ノンデイト仕様により、シンメトリーな美しさが際立ちます。竜頭には “W SEIKO” の刻印、裏蓋のメダリオンは獅子が配されています。

ケースにはわずかな小傷が見られるものの、全体として瑞々しさを保った良好なコンディションです。当時のファセットがしっかりと残されており、鏡面とヘアラインのコントラストが美しく際立ちます。ダイヤルにはエイジングがほとんど見られず、明快なシルバーの色調が印象的です。針とインデックスにはわずかなくすみがあるものの、肉眼では気にならない程度です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

This example of the 44 Chronometer—King Seiko’s flagship model—was manufactured in October 1965. As a later-production Ref. 4420-9990, it features the distinctive block-letter “Chronometer” text, a hallmark specific to this production period. The silver sunray dial is paired with solid bar indexes and sharp dauphine hands, creating a classically refined appearance. The absence of a date window allows the symmetry of the design to shine through. The crown is signed “W SEIKO,” and the case back is adorned with the signature lion medallion.

The case remains in excellent condition, showing only minor signs of wear while retaining a fresh and crisp appearance. The original faceted edges are well-preserved, and the contrast between the polished and brushed surfaces adds a striking visual depth. The dial shows virtually no signs of aging, maintaining a clear and vibrant silver tone. The hands and indexes display only faint patina, barely visible to the naked eye. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our team.

This piece is quintessential King Seiko—stripped of excess, defined by balance and refinement.
