COMMENT

第二次世界大戦時に英国空軍省により官給されたロンジンのパイロットウォッチ。こちらは1956年に軍によりリケースされた防水モデルです。厚みのあるスクリューバックのステンレススチールケースを採用しています。ダイヤルはホワイトマット。夜光塗料のないシンプルなデザインで、アラビアインデックスと外周のミニッツトラックはブラックプリントです。針は特徴的なアルファ針を採用しています。ラグはバネ棒式ではなく、パリス菅です。

ロンジンの傑作ムーブメント12.68系、センターセコンド仕様の末尾Nを搭載しています。このムーブメントは、生産中止までの間、ほとんど設計変更を受けることがなかったと言われているほど、優れた機械です。

ケースはエッジの効いた最高のコンディションです。ケースバックの刻印も残っています。ダイヤルは若干の経年変化が確認できます。ホワイトのトーンは高いままを保っており、瑞々しさを感じます。 ブルースチールの針は深みのある青色を残しています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

第二次世界大戦のイギリス空軍 6B/159は、オメガ、ジャガー・ルクルト、ロンジンなどの多くのメーカーから供給されており、白い文字盤に黒いアラビア数字、センターセコンド、ブルースチールの非夜光針を標準仕様としました。オリジナルのケースは直径32mmのクロムメッキにステンレススチールのスナップバックでしたが、後に36mmのステンレススチール防水ケースにリケースされたことにより、スペックと需要が向上し興味深いモデルとなりました。

COMMENT

The Longines pilot watch supplied to the British Air Ministry during World War II is a historical treasure. This particular model, re-cased for military use in 1956, features a waterproof stainless steel case with a thick screw-back. The dial is matte white, with a simple design featuring black printed Arabic numerals and an outer minute track. It employs distinctive alpha hands.

Powered by the exceptional Longines 12.68 series movement, it features a centre second hand with the "N" designation. Renowned for its excellence, this movement underwent minimal design changes throughout its production.

The case is in impeccable condition with sharp edges, retaining the markings on the case back. The dial exhibits slight signs of aging, yet the white tone remains vibrant and fresh. The blued steel hands retain their deep blue color. It has undergone disassembly and cleaning by our company.

The British Air Force 6B/159 from World War II was supplied by various manufacturers including Omega, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Longines. It featured a white dial with black Arabic numerals, a centre second hand, and blued steel non-luminous hands as standard specifications. The original case was chrome-plated with a stainless steel snap-back, but the re-casing to a 36mm stainless steel waterproof case later enhanced its specifications and demand, making it an intriguing model.
