フランスメーカー、LIPのクロノグラフです。ツイストラグを備えたケースはスクリューバックにラウンドプッシャーの防水仕様。ダイアルはパウダーホワイトに外周に青タキメーターと赤テレメーター、インデックスは偶数のみの飛びアラビア数字。金色ケースとの見事な組み合わせが素晴らしい意匠です。インダイアルは3時がモダンと呼ばれるデザイン針を採用した30分積算計、9時が永久秒針です。段が深く、精緻な同心円の掘り込みから造りの良さが伺えます。ドットのルミナスは掘り込みタイプ。ダイアルより一段下がったもので、ロレックスの初期のエクスプローラーやオメガのシーマスター300でも採用されていました。搭載キャリバーは評価の高い＜VALJOUX（バルジュー）＞23ベースのR106。 

ケースはかなりコンディションが良いです。ラグの複雑の面取りは綺麗にエッジを残しています。ケースサイド、バックはブランドの刻印が状態良く残っています。パウダーホワイトのダイアルは中心部にわずかにエイジングが見られます。軽度なもので、ほのかな暖かみのある色調がケースカラーと調和しています。その他針やインデックスに目立った劣化は見られません。タキメーターとテレメーターの色味は当時のままを現存しています。彫り込みの深いインダイアルは光を強く反射しています。夜行塗料は黒焼け、型崩れがなく、ベージュカラーがヴィンテージらしい表情を作り上げています。

細かいところにまで拘りが感じられるLIPのクロノグラフ。気を衒ったものではなく、36mmと王道のサイズ感、防水仕様と扱いやすさに長けている点もおすすめできるポイントです。フランスメーカー＜LIP（リップ）＞らしいデザイン性の高さを感じます。

BRAND

1807年に設立のフランスの老舗ブランド。第二次世界大戦後にはフランス政府の要請により元英国首相のウィンストン・チャーチル氏へ贈呈したT-18と呼ばれる時計を製作し、第一次世界大戦ではフランス軍の砲兵将校へミリタリーウォッチを供給。さらに1952年にはエレクトリック・ムーヴメントを開発して各国の大統領にフランス政府より贈呈されプレジデント・ウォッチと呼ばれました。

This is a chronograph from the French manufacturer LIP. The case, equipped with twisted lugs, features a screw-down back and round pushers for water resistance. The dial is powder white with blue tachymeter and red telemeter scales on the periphery, adorned with odd-numbered Arabic numerals. The stunning combination with the gold case is a remarkable design feature. The sub-dials include a 30-minute totalizer at 3 o'clock adopting a modern design hand and a continuous second hand at 9 o'clock. The deep and intricate concentric circles reveal the excellence in craftsmanship. The luminescent dots are of the recessed type, situated one level below the dial, a design element seen in early Rolex Explorers and Omega Seamaster 300s. It houses the highly regarded VALJOUX 23-based R106 caliber.

The case is in remarkably good condition. The intricate facetting on the lugs preserves clean edges. The case side and back exhibit well-preserved brand engravings. While the powder white dial shows slight aging in the center, it blends harmoniously with the warm tones of the case color. There are no significant signs of deterioration on the hands or indices. The colors of the tachymeter and telemeter scales remain true to the original. The deeply engraved sub-dials reflect light strongly. The luminous paint shows no discoloration or distortion, adding a vintage touch with its beige hue.

LIP's chronograph showcases meticulous attention to detail. Its 36mm size, waterproof design, and ease of handling make it a recommendable choice. It embodies the high design standards typical of the French manufacturer LIP.

BRAND

Founded in 1807, this French heritage brand gained prominence for producing military watches supplied to French artillery officers during World War I. Post-World War II, they crafted a watch named T-18, gifted to former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill at the behest of the French government. In 1952, they developed an electric movement, known as the President Watch, which was presented by the French government to various heads of state.
