1950年代末期製造のRef.6494は、オイスターデイトとして知られるRef.6694よりも一世代前のモデルです。アルファハンドとブルースチール製の針が採用され、年式を象徴するデザインとなっています。その形状からワッフルと称される独自のハニカムダイヤルは、数あるギョシェのパターンの中でも人気の仕様です。この仕上げは艶消しの効果を生み出し、読時の視認性を向上させます。デボスが施された一段下がったインデックスと王冠ロゴは、特に輝きを放ちます。夜光塗料がない仕様のため、スポーティーなディテールが際立ちながらも、上品な印象を醸し出しています。デイト表示は赤と黒が交互に表示される、ルーレットデイトです。リベットオイスターブレスレットとエンドリンク57が使用されています。

The Ref.6494, manufactured in the late 1950s, is a model from one generation prior to the well-known Ref.6694, also known as the Oyster Date. It features Alpha hands and blue steel needles, embodying a design that symbolizes its era. The distinctive houndstooth pattern on the honeycomb dial makes it a popular choice among various guilloché patterns. The guilloché finish creates a matte effect, enhancing readability during reading. The embossed, slightly recessed indices, and crown logo particularly shine. Despite the absence of luminescent paint, it exudes a sporty yet elegant impression. The date display utilizes a roulette date with alternating red and black. It is adorned with a rivet Oyster bracelet and end link 57.

The case has thick lugs and appropriate proportions, maintaining a good condition without excessive slimness. The honeycomb dial is rare, and those in good condition are scarce. However, there are no signs of aging due to water exposure or discoloration, preserving the original texture.
