COMMENT

1980年代に販売されたオーデマ・ピゲです。クォーツショックの最中、機械式時計は手巻きの2針ドレスウォッチが隆盛を極めた頃の品で、名門のあえて飾らないことによる説得力が感じられる一品です。ダイヤルはホワイトマット。シルバーのサンバースト仕上げに比べ、より落ち着いた印象です。インデックスは幅狭のバーですが、通常よりも長く、読時性能を高めています。ケースはホワイトゴールドで、真円にバーラグです。

ケースはほぼ手付かずと言っても良いほど状態が良いです。ホールマークに擦れはなく、ベゼルのエッジが効いています。ダイヤルは、厳しく見て外周部に若干の経年変化が見られますが、肉眼ではほとんど気にならない程度で、良い状態を保っています。インデックスのプリントに劣化は見られず、シミのない美しいホワイトカラーを維持しています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

恐るべきはケースの厚みです。全体でおそよ4.3mm程度の超薄型ドレスウォッチで、ドレスシャツの袖元を邪魔しません。自社Cal.2003は厚み1.64mmとされており、オーデマ・ピゲの技術力が窺える賜物です。

COMMENT

This Audemars Piguet from the 1980s hails from an era when mechanical watches, especially manual two-hand dress watches, flourished amidst the Quartz Crisis. This piece exudes the understated elegance and authority characteristic of a prestigious brand. The dial is white matte, offering a more subdued impression compared to the silver sunburst finish. The slim bar indices are longer than usual, enhancing legibility. The case, crafted from white gold, features a perfect round shape with bar lugs.

The case is in excellent condition, almost untouched. There are no scratches on the hallmarks, and the bezel edges are sharp. The dial shows minimal signs of aging around the outer edge, barely noticeable to the naked eye, maintaining an excellent overall condition. The dial is in perfect condition, with no deterioration in the printed indices and a pristine white colour free of blemishes. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our company.

One remarkable aspect is the case thickness. At approximately 4.3mm overall, this ultra-thin dress watch slips easily under a dress shirt cuff. The in-house Cal. 2003 movement is just 1.64mm thick, a testament to Audemars Piguet’s technical prowess.
