COMMENT

マーク4のグラフ、1966年7月に発売開始されたモデルです。バトン型の時分針、オレンジのセンタークロノ針が新しく採用されました。ダイヤルはホワイトも存在しますが、こちらはブラックマットのリバースパンダ。ルミナスの入ったインデックスの形状がマーク4から変更されています。300スケールのタキメーターです。後に500スケールが登場します。ケースは＜E.P.S.A.社製＞のスーパーコンプレッサーの同型を継承、Sherpa300の真珠ケースバックです。搭載ムーブメントはコラムホール式のバルジュー72。ロレックスデイトナやホイヤーカレラなどにも搭載されたクロノグラフムーブメントの名機です。

ケースはエッジの効いたスーパープロポーションで、多面カットが施されたラグのエッジがはっきりと残っています。プッシュやリューズは、オリジナルでガタつきや傷はなく、しっかりとした操作性が得られます。ダイヤルと針はミントコンディション、ベージュ色のトリチウムが芳醇な質感です。28分辺りの傷は軽い風防傷ですので、ご安心ください。タキメーターはグロッシーな鏡面シルバーで、油膜のような虹色が確認できます。販売当時のままにオリジナルブレスレットが完全な状態で付属していることが、この時計がそれほど使用されてこなかったことを表しています。弊社にて整備済みで、パワーリザーブ45時間を確認しています。

1960年から製造され始めたシェルパグラフ。グラフのスーパーコンプレッサーケースは当時160 feet (50m) の防水性を備えていたと言われています。英国の伝説的なレーシングドライバー、スターリング・モスが着用していたことがきっかけで、シェルパの輝かしいスポーツ志向の設計、自動車にインスパイアされたデザインを融合させた時計として急速に人気を博しました。

レーシングドライバーに愛用された名機「シェルパグラフ」。1854年創業と長い歴史を誇るエニカですが、なかでもシェルパシリーズはブランドの代表的なモデルで、傑作クロノグラフとして名高い「Valjuoux 72」をEPSA製の防水ケースに収めた頑強なつくりが多くの冒険家に支持され、エベレスト探検や南極探検などの極限状態にも採用されました。レース向けの「シェルパグラフ」ですが、頑強なシェルパの名前は健在で、ジムクラークなど多くのレーシングドライバーと共に栄光を勝ち取り1960〜1969年頃までのロングヒット商品となりました。

The Mark 4 Graph, a model launched in July 1966, showcases distinctive features such as baton-style hour and minute hands and a new orange central chronograph hand. While a white dial variant exists, this particular piece features a matte black reverse panda dial. The shape of the luminescent indices has been modified from the Mark 4, and it includes a 300-scale tachymeter, later succeeded by the introduction of a 500-scale. The case inherits the same type as the <E.P.S.A. manufactured> Super Compressor with a Sherpa 300 pearly case back. It houses the column-wheel Valjoux 72 movement, a chronograph powerhouse also featured in timepieces like the Rolex Daytona and Heuer Carrera.

The case boasts sharp edges and superlative proportions, with distinct edges on the multi-faceted cut lugs. Original pushes and crowns exhibit no play or scratches, ensuring a robust operability. The dial and hands are in mint condition, with the tritium in a rich beige hue offering a delightful texture. Minor scratches around the 28-minute mark are light crystal scratches, so rest assured. The glossy silver mirror-finish tachymeter displays a rainbow-like sheen resembling an oil film. The fact that the original bracelet is in pristine condition indicates minimal prior usage of this timepiece. Fully serviced by our company, it confirms a power reserve of 45 hours.

The Sherpa Graph, first manufactured in 1960, began its legacy with the super compressor case that was reputedly waterproof to 160 feet (50m).
