COMMENT

1970年代らしいCラインケースのインター。ダイアルカラーはブルーのサンレイ、光で色の濃淡を変えるエレガントなものです。外周に位置するシルバーのパールドロップは夜空に広がる星々を並べたかのようです。インデックスと針はセンターにブラックを塗布することで、より引きしまった顔立ちに仕上げています。カレンダーの背景はライトグレー。雰囲気を壊さないどこまでもコンセプチュアルなフェイスです。搭載キャリバー8541Bはインターオリジナル＜ペラトン方式＞の自動巻を備えた機械。爪により両回転での自動巻を実現し、その性能の高さから、現代でも使用されている機構です。IWCが当時自社で開発した最終キャリバーで、完成された美しさがあります。“B”はハック機能付きという意味を表しています。

ケースは傷の見られない清潔感あふれるコンディションで、Cラインのエッジがよく効きパリッとしています。この年式のカラーダイアルは、特有の剥がれが表れていても致し方ないのですが、そのような劣化が見られないミントコンディションです。針やインデックス、アプライドのIWCロゴはミントです。上面の鏡面仕上げを完璧に残し、キラキラと時計に瑞々しい印象を与えています。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、パワーリザーブ47時間を確認しています。

50年以上前のものとは思えないこの時計特有の雰囲気は、当時のデザイン力の高さが伺えます。ダイアルカラーと同色のクロコダイルベルトを装着しています。落ち着いた印象ながら、しっかりと個性を発揮できるような時計です。

IWCのCal.85系自動巻きムーブメントは、独自機構のペラトン式を採用しています。巻き上げの際には、ビーズを転がすような音色を鳴らします。その音量は他社製品と比べて、明らかに大きいことが特徴となっています。

アメリカマサチューセッツ州ボストン出身の時計師、フロレンタイン・アリオスト・ジョーンズが1868年に創立したのが始まり。特徴的なデザインで今なお世界中で人気を誇る「パイロット・ウォッチ」コレクションなど、多くの人気シリーズを発売。磁気から時計を守る為の軟鉄製インナーケースや、IWC独自の"ぺラトン式"と呼ばれる両回転式自動巻機構はあまりに有名。

This is an Inter with a C-line case design typical of the 1970s. Its dial boasts a blue sunray finish, elegantly altering shades under different lighting conditions. The silver pearl drops positioned around the perimeter resemble stars scattered across the night sky. By applying black to the indices and hands at the center, it achieves a more refined appearance. The calendar background is in light grey, maintaining a conceptual face that doesn't disrupt the overall ambiance. It houses the caliber 8541B, an original Inter mechanism featuring the "Pellaton system," allowing for bidirectional automatic winding via claws. This mechanism, renowned for its performance, is still utilized in modern times. Developed by IWC at the time, it represents the pinnacle of their craftsmanship, with the "B" denoting its hack function.

The case exhibits a pristine condition without any visible scratches, with the C-line edges sharply defined and crisp. While color dial watches of this vintage often show signs of peeling, this one is in mint condition without such degradation. The hands, indices, and applied IWC logo remain in mint condition. The top mirror finish is impeccably preserved, giving the watch a vibrant and fresh impression. It has been disassembled and cleaned by us, with a confirmed power reserve of 47 hours.

The unique atmosphere of this watch, which belies its over 50-year-old age, speaks volumes about the design prowess of that era. It comes with a crocodile leather strap matching the dial color, exuding a composed yet distinctive character.

IWC's Cal.85 series automatic movement adopts the proprietary Pellaton system. When winding, it produces a sound akin to rolling beads, notably louder than those of its counterparts.
