1961年から製造開始されたヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン Ref.6589。この時計は、年式を考慮すると非常に先進的なデザインを採用しています。この時期には他社ではほとんど見られない、薄型のCラインケースを採用しています。1950年代にはパテックに並び、華やかでデコラティブなケースを多く製造してきたヴァシュロンですが、こちらのモデルでは打って変わってミニマリストデザインに傾倒しています。ダイヤルはアプライドのバーインデックスとブラックプリントを巧みに組み合わせた、1970年代を感じさせるビザールなデザインですが、意外にも時刻は読みやすいです。

搭載ムーブメントは1951年に発表された、手巻きの薄型Cal.1001です。ルクルト社製ムーブメントCal.818をチューンナップしたもので、幅9リーニュ、高さ2.94mmというコンパクトなサイズ感、クラシックなフィンガーブリッジを備えています。振動数は18,000振動で、五姿勢調整、等時性調整、温度補正された高精度なムーブメントです。ジュネーブシール付きで、キフショックを備えています。

ケースは傷が少なく、Cラインのエッジは当時のままを保っています。ケースサイドのホールマークはしっかりと現存しています。ダイヤルはミントコンディションで、気になるような経年変化は見られません。針やインデックス、ダイヤルのプリントは擦れなく状態よく残っています。弊社にて分解掃除は済ませています。

ヴァシュロン・コンスタンタンらしい独特の魅力を多く感じさせる逸品です。バットマンなどの有名なモデルは近年注目を浴びておりますが、こちらはまだ広く知られていないヴィンテージヴァシュロンの奥深さを体現しているようです。

18世紀中頃創業のヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン。日本では誤訳により長い間バセロン・コンスタンチンの呼称で愛されていました。キャビノチェの精神に受け継ぐ世界最古の高級時計ブランドです。キャビノチェは、照明装置の乏しかった当時、技術の高い職人は明かりを求めて屋根裏部屋（キャビネット）に工房を設けており、人々は彼らに敬意を表してキャビノチェと呼んでいたことが語源です。マルタ十字のクロスをブランドロゴに掲げ、高く洗練された優れた技術力によって生み出された名品はコレクターも多く、世界中から高い評価を得ています。

The Vacheron Constantin Ref. 6589, which began production in 1961, showcases an exceptionally advanced design for its time. This model features a thin C-line case, a rarity among other brands during this era. Known for its ornate and decorative cases in the 1950s, comparable to Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin pivoted to a minimalist design with this piece. The dial cleverly combines applied bar indices with black print, offering a unique design reminiscent of the 1970s, yet ensuring easy readability.

The watch is powered by the hand-wound, ultra-thin Cal. 1001 movement, introduced in 1951. This movement, a tuned-up version of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Cal. 818, measures 9 lignes in width and 2.94mm in height, and features a classic finger bridge. It operates at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and boasts five-position adjustments, isochronism adjustment, and temperature compensation, ensuring high accuracy. It is also Geneva Seal certified and equipped with a KIF shock protection system.

The case shows minimal wear, with the C-line edges preserved in their original state. The hallmark on the case side remains well-defined. The dial is in mint condition, exhibiting no noticeable signs of aging. The hands, indices, and dial print are all intact without any wear. Our company has performed a full disassembly and cleaning, making it ready for immediate use.

This piece epitomizes the unique charm of Vacheron Constantin. While models like the "Batman" have recently gained attention, this watch represents the profound depth of vintage Vacheron Constantin, which remains relatively unknown.
