COMMENT

アイボリーのローマンダイヤルは、マストタンクの中でも最もスタンダードで人気の高い意匠です。クラシックな色合いに映えるのは、ブルースチールの針とブルーサファイアのカボションリューズで、タンクらしい上品さを際立たせています。

ケースは良好な状態を保ち、裏面の刻印も鮮明に残っています。ガラスにも目立つ傷はなく、全体としてクリアな印象です。文字盤はヴィンテージのカルティエで見られるクラックがほとんどなく、年代を考慮しても非常に優れたコンディションです。ベルトはクロコダイル製で、タンク専用のプロポーションを踏襲して製作したものです。カルティエ純正のDバックルを備えており、当時の雰囲気を損なうことなくお楽しみいただけます。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

現在では、ジュエラーとして名高いカルティエですが、まだ懐中時計が主流だった1904年に本格的な腕時計を製作したのはカルティエが最初でした。「タンク」という名前は、“戦車”を意味し、第一次世界大戦中の終結に貢献したといわれる、ルノー製の戦車がデザインの基となっています。その中でもマストシリーズは文字盤のバリエーションが豊富にあります。

COMMENT

The ivory Roman-numeral dial represents one of the most classic and popular designs within the Must de Cartier Tank line. The blued-steel hands and blue cabochon sapphire crown provide a refined contrast, enhancing the understated elegance that defines the Tank aesthetic.

The case remains in excellent condition, with the engravings on the back still crisp and legible. The glass shows no noticeable scratches, giving the watch a clean, clear appearance. The dial is remarkably well preserved, showing virtually no cracking—an impressive condition for a vintage Cartier of this era. The crocodile strap is crafted to match the Tank’s original proportions, paired with a Cartier genuine deployant buckle that preserves the period-correct atmosphere. The name “Tank” comes from its resemblance to the Renault military tanks used during World War I.
