COMMENT

ステンレススチールケースは当時の防水仕様としてスクリューバックを採用し、面の切り替えが明確なラグと薄いベゼルが、引き締まった輪郭を作っています。ダイヤルは深いブラックマットで、光を強く反射させず、文字やインデックスの存在感が自然に立ち上がる質感。カッパーカラーのバーインデックスと繊細なミニッツトラックが静かな緊張感を整え、アプライドのレマニアロゴが控えめな立体感を添えています。夜光付きのペンシルハンドは幅を抑えた造形で、スモールセコンドはインデックスと干渉しない位置へわずかに内側へ寄せた配置。ミニマルな構成の中で、ディテールの密度がきちんと感じられる一本です。

使用感は少なく、ベゼルやラグのエッジがしっかりと残っています。ケースバック外周のレター刻印と段差は輪郭が明瞭で、当時の雰囲気をそのまま楽しめます。ダイヤルはマットの質感が均一で、気になる劣化は見受けられません。針とインデックスのメッキは艶を保ち、ルミナスは形崩れがなく、落ち着いたベージュへ整った色味です。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

搭載ムーブメントは自社Cal.3000。赤胴色のメッキが施された地板と、サンレイ状に仕上げられた角穴車・丸穴車が、上質な仕上げです。同系統にCal.3100が存在しますが、Cal.3000は巻き上げヒゲを備える仕様として位置づけられ、調整機構まわりの作りにも見応えがあります。緩急針付近に設けられたガード形状など、ヒゲの挙動を安定させるための工夫が盛り込まれている点も、この年代のレマニアらしい真面目さです。ブラックとカッパーの配色が生む落ち着きがあり、普段使いでこそ良さが伝わる手巻きモデルです。

BRAND

1884年の創業当初から、 クロノグラフを手掛けるエボーシュメーカーとして活躍。1940年代には自社名を冠したミリタリーウォッチを製作し、イギリス軍やスウェーデン軍に軍用時計を供給しています。 特にイギリス軍には陸・海・空軍すべてに同社のクロノグラフが採用されるなど、信頼度の高さを証明しています。また、エボーシュメーカーとしては、1932年以降にOMEGAなどのムーブメントの供給元にもなっています。 1969年の、アポロ11号月面着陸の際にアームストロング船長の腕に巻かれていたオメガの＜スピードマスター＞の機械は、＜LEMANIA＞が手掛けていたことを忘れてはいけません。

COMMENT

The stainless steel case employs a screw-back construction, reflecting the waterproof standards of its era. Clearly defined lugs with crisp transitions and a slim bezel give the watch a taut, well-resolved outline. The dial is a deep matte black, deliberately suppressing reflections so that the lettering and indexes rise naturally from the surface. Copper-toned bar indexes and a finely drawn minute track establish a quiet sense of tension, while the applied Lemania logo adds a restrained three-dimensional accent. The luminous pencil hands are slim in proportion, and the small seconds sub-dial is set slightly inward to avoid visual interference with the indexes. Within this minimalist layout, the density and precision of the details are immediately apparent.

Signs of wear are minimal, with the edges of the bezel and lugs remaining clearly defined. The lettering and stepped profile around the perimeter of the caseback are sharp, preserving the original character of the period. The dial maintains an even matte texture with no notable deterioration. The plating on the hands and indexes retains its luster, and the luminous material is intact, having settled into a calm beige tone. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

The watch is powered by the in-house Cal.3000. The copper-colored plated main plate and the sunray-finished crown and ratchet wheels demonstrate a high standard of finishing. While the related Cal.3100 exists within the same family, the Cal.3000 is distinguished by its use of a Breguet overcoil hairspring, placing it as a more refined specification. The construction around the regulating system is particularly noteworthy, including protective shaping near the regulator to stabilize the behavior of the hairspring—an expression of Lemania’s serious, engineering-focused approach during this period. The subdued harmony of black and copper tones gives the watch a composed presence, one whose appeal is best appreciated through regular wear.

BRAND

Since its founding in 1884, Lemania established itself as a specialist ébauche manufacturer with a strong focus on chronographs. In the 1940s, the company began producing military watches under its own name, supplying timepieces to the British and Swedish armed forces. Notably, Lemania chronographs were adopted across all branches of the British military—army, navy, and air force—underscoring the brand’s reliability. As an ébauche maker, Lemania also supplied movements to companies such as Omega from 1932 onward. It should not be forgotten that the movement worn by Captain Armstrong during the Apollo 11 moon landing, the Omega Speedmaster, was manufactured by Lemania.
