ダイアルの6時位置に「600」に「m」表記が無い初期型600ダイバー。大きなフェイスサイズに目が行きがちですが、ディティールへの繊細な造り込みもしっかりと満たしているジャパンメイドです。1970年代当時、世界初のチタンケースを採用した時計として話題を呼びました。現在では、愛好家の間で「ツナ缶」と呼ばれる、SEIKOを代表するスタイルのひとつになりました。

ムーブメントは、10振動（36000）ハイビート仕様Cal.6159Bを搭載。セイコーのフラッグシップモデルであるグランドセイコーにも搭載されていたブランドを代表する傑作ムーブメントです。

ツールウォッチでありながら、とても良いコンディションを現存しております。ケースは打痕がわずかに確認できる程度で、プロポーションの良さを損ねていません。ベゼルの細かなエッジはオリジナルの通りに残っています。ブラックの色味はスレなどによりダメージが現れやすいですが、こちらも良い状態を保っています。ダイヤルはパーフェクトです。ブラックの文字盤に目立った劣化は見られません。注目するべきポイントはルミナスです。素晴らしいベージュカラーでヴィンテージならではの魅力を引き立てています。

1960年代は、機械式腕時計は完成期とも言えるほどの発展を遂げた時期で、セイコーは精度コンクールの分野でも量産の分野でも、世界に追いつき、追いぬいた時代であった。同時に、「時計の電子化」が進展し、1969（昭和44）年12月にセイコーが世界初のクオーツ（水晶）腕時計を発売することにより、機械式腕時計からクオーツ腕時計へと大きく舵を切ろうとする時期でもあった。

This is an early version of the Seiko 600m diver, notable for the absence of the “m” next to the “600” marking at the 6 o’clock position. While the oversized face naturally draws attention, it's the refined craftsmanship in the details that truly speaks to its excellence as a Japan-made tool watch. In the 1970s, it garnered global attention as the world’s first wristwatch to feature a titanium case. Today, this model has earned the nickname "Tuna Can" among collectors and has become one of Seiko’s most iconic styles. Inside, it houses the high-beat 36,000 vph Cal. 6159B movement—a masterwork that also powered Seiko’s flagship Grand Seiko models of the era.

Despite being a professional tool watch, this example remains in excellent condition. The case shows only minimal marks and retains its original proportions. The finely serrated edges of the bezel are preserved, and the black coating—typically prone to wear—is in impressive condition. The dial is flawless, with no signs of deterioration on the deep black surface. One highlight is the luminous material, which has aged to a superb beige tone, adding to the watch’s vintage charm.

This model is widely considered the pinnacle of Japanese dive watch engineering, developed under the direction of the renowned Ikuyoshi Tokunaga.
