Rolex Submariner Ref.5513、シリアル3.8ミリオンは1974年製の品です。通称“ノンセリフダイヤル”を備えており、3・6・9時位置の夜光インデックスに四方の跳ね（セリフ）が付かない仕様で知られています。これは1960年代後半のメーターファーストダイヤルに続くマイナーチェンジにあたり、セリフダイヤルとほぼ同時期に並行して製造されました。また、ノンセリフダイヤルは“ROLEX”の「E」に跳ねが入る点でも識別が可能です。装着されるブレスレットは希少なダブル巻きのRef.9513で、エンドリンク380を備えています。

ケースは勲章とも言える傷がありますが、ラグの厚みやエッジをしっかりと残しており、面が平ら、当時のプロポーションを見事に維持しています。ベセルは大きな傷や欠けがなく、均一にグレーへとゴースト化しており最高評価に値します。それは、夜光は均一に焼けたダイヤルと針のトリチウムと、見事なコントラストを演出しています。針はメッキに経年変化が見られますが、自然なエイジングで、トリチウム夜光の色合いが揃っている点は大変好印象です。ベゼルは正常に作動します。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

5513のマットダイヤルは1969年から1982年頃にかけて製造され、ダイヤルの細かなバリエーションが存在することから、収集の楽しみが尽きないモデルです。その中でも本個体のように、均一に焼けたトリチウムと美しいゴーストベゼルが組み合わさった例は現存数が限られており、サブマリーナの歴史を物語る希少な存在といえます。ヴィンテージロレックスの醍醐味を凝縮した一本であり、コレクションの中核を担うに相応しい価値を備えています。

This Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513 dates to 1974, falling within the 3.8 million serial range. It is fitted with the so-called “non-serif dial,” recognized by the absence of flared serifs on the luminous markers at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. This dial configuration followed the earlier “meters first” style of the late 1960s and was produced in parallel with serif dials of the same period. Another distinguishing feature is the “E” in “ROLEX,” which carries a distinct serif unique to this variant. Accompanying the watch is the rare folded-link Ref. 9513 bracelet with 380 end links.

The case retains the thickness of the lugs and sharpness of the edges, preserving the original proportions in excellent form. The bezel shows no major scratches or chips and has aged into an attractive grey ghost tone, which deserves the highest recognition. This creates a striking contrast with the evenly aged tritium lume on the dial and hands. While some plating loss can be seen on the hands, the fact that the tritium tones are well matched leaves a very positive impression. The bezel operates smoothly, and the watch has been fully disassembled and cleaned by our workshop.

The matte-dial 5513 was produced from around 1969 to 1982, a period that saw numerous subtle dial variations, making it one of the most engaging models for collectors. Examples such as this one—with evenly aged tritium and a beautifully faded “ghost” bezel—are increasingly rare, representing an important chapter in the Submariner’s legacy. It encapsulates the essence of vintage Rolex and stands as a piece worthy of anchoring a serious collection.
