すり鉢状のインナーリングに5分刻みのインデックスを配し、ダイヤルは中央がわずかに盛り上がったシルバーのボンベ型。センターを軸にレコードのようなヘアラインが放射状に広がり、そこにクロスラインが交差する洗練されたデザインです。インナーリングとケースの一体感のある造形は、一目でポールルーターとわかる優れた意匠。針にはドーフィンハンドを採用しており、クラシカルな印象と高い視認性を兼ね備えています。ケースはツイストラグを採用し、流れるようなラインが特徴的なシームレスなフォルムに仕上がっています。

ケースにはわずかに使用傷が見られるものの、ツイストラグのエッジもシャープに残っており、美しいプロポーションを保っています。ダイヤルはエイジングにより焼けたトーンへと変化し、独特のシックな雰囲気を醸し出しています。外周のインデックスは輝きをしっかりと保っており、状態の良さがうかがえます。針は経年によりダイヤルと調和する色調へと変わり、全体の雰囲気とよく馴染んでいます。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

COMMENT

This early Universal Genève Polerouter features a beautifully domed silver dial with a slightly raised center, radiating with fine, record-like brushing and intersected by refined crosshairs. The inner rehaut slopes inward in a bowl-like shape and is marked with five-minute intervals, a distinctive design element that seamlessly integrates with the twisted-lug case—instantly recognizable as a hallmark of the Polerouter. Dolphin hands lend a classic, elegant aesthetic while ensuring high legibility. The twisted lugs flow organically into the case, creating a seamless silhouette that exemplifies mid-century design sophistication.

While the case shows minimal signs of wear, the edges of the twisted lugs remain sharp and the overall proportions are well preserved. The dial has aged to a unique greenish tone, imbuing the watch with a moody and refined vintage character. The outer ring of applied indexes retains its original shine, reflecting the well-maintained condition of the piece. The hands have also gracefully aged, now harmonizing beautifully with the dial's tone. The watch has been fully serviced by our technicians.

The Polerouter was born from a historic collaboration between Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Universal Genève, marking SAS’s pioneering transpolar flights in the 1950s. Designed to withstand the magnetic fields encountered on these flights, the watch blends tool watch functionality with elegant form.
