The Santos Octagon is one of Cartier’s sport-oriented lines introduced in the 1970s, distinguished by its characteristic octagonal bezel. Production concluded around 1990, leaving behind details no longer seen in current models. The dial is rendered in a porcelain-like lacquered white, where the minute track, Roman numerals, and circular line are harmoniously composed. Blued steel baton hands and the colored cabochon set into the crown provide refined accents. The watch is powered by Cal. 2671.
The case shows minimal surface wear and remains in clean, well-preserved condition. The dial exhibits very fine hairline cracks; however, they do not affect legibility, and the overall impression remains composed. The blued steel hands retain their vivid coloration, and the indexes show no chipping or flaking. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.
The flat-cut bracelet catches the light with a subtle brilliance, evoking the presence of a finely crafted bangle. In LM size, the Santos Octagon has become increasingly difficult to source in recent years—particularly examples equipped with automatic movement—adding to its appeal among collectors.
