COMMENT
The 36mm case is slim and sits elegantly on the wrist, offering a refined and comfortable fit. The case flanks flow seamlessly into the lugs in a classic Calatrava-style profile, while the bezel is deliberately wide with a reassuring thickness, creating subtle tension in the silhouette. The dial presents a finely textured silver surface. The lettering, minute track, and small seconds are not printed but inlaid, with a slight relief visible upon close inspection. Bullet-shaped indexes and slender pencil hands balance the substance of the case, resulting in a composed and harmonious design.
The case retains strong proportions, with no visible wear to the hallmarks beneath the lugs. Minor storage marks are present, though there are no noticeable dents. It conveys a sense of careful preservation and honest provenance. The dial remains in very good condition; although it carries a soft ivory tone, the aging is restrained and the overall impression remains fresh. The hands are well preserved, maintaining a crisp and lively appearance. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.
Cal. P453/3B is often discussed as part of the lineage derived from LeCoultre’s chronometer-grade calibers (Cal. 449/450 family), elevated through Vacheron’s refined finishing and adjustment. The appeal of this piece lies in the union of a slim case architecture and the artisanal quality of its inlaid dial. It does not overstate itself beneath a cuff, yet draws the eye through the precision of its form—a quietly compelling example of classical watchmaking.
