1939年に30mmキャリバーが発表される直前に製造された一本。最大の特徴は、1930年代後半のモデルとしては極めて異例な37mm径のジャンボ・カラトラバケースにあります。当時、一般的なメンズサイズが30mm前後であったことを考えると、このサイズは非常に珍しく、当時から特別な意図で製造された個体であったことがうかがえます。ダイヤルはブラックミラー仕上げで、レターはすべてギルトによって描かれており、24時間表示のミニッツがその個性を際立たせます。バックルには当時オメガが正式採用していたメーカー製のオリジナルが付属し、当時の雰囲気をそのままにお楽しみいただける構成です。

搭載ムーブメントのCal.26.5は、30mmキャリバー登場以前のオメガを支えた代表的な手巻きムーブメントです。センターセコンド仕様や耐震機構付きのバリエーションも存在し、この時代としては非常に高い安定性と信頼性を備えた設計となっていました。

保存状態は良好で、ケースは保管に伴う微細なスレのみ、ラグのエッジは明瞭に残っています。ダイヤルはブラックミラーの艶を完全に保ち、ギルトレターとのコントラストが鮮烈な印象を与えます。針は当時のメッキが美しく残っており、視認性と質感の両面で申し分のないコンディションです。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

This exceptional piece was produced just before the debut of Omega’s iconic 30mm calibers in 1939. Its most defining feature is the oversized 38mm Calatrava-style case—an extraordinary size for the late 1930s, when typical men's watches measured around 30mm. This unusually large diameter suggests that the watch was created with a special purpose or clientele in mind. The black mirror dial features all-gilt lettering and a rare 24-hour minute track, giving it a bold and distinctive appearance. It is also fitted with a period-original buckle manufactured by a supplier officially contracted by Omega at the time, preserving the watch’s authentic 1930s atmosphere.

Inside ticks the Cal. 26.5, a hand-wound movement that served as a cornerstone for Omega before the advent of the 30mm calibers. Known for its robust construction, the 26.5 family included variations with center seconds and shock protection—features that were advanced for the period, offering reliability and precision well ahead of their time.

The watch is in excellent overall condition. The case shows only minor surface marks from storage, and the lugs retain their sharp edges. The black mirror dial maintains its original gloss, with striking contrast against the untouched gilt text. The hands retain their original plating and display impressive clarity and finish. The watch has been fully disassembled and cleaned by our team.

This is a true masterpiece from Omega’s pre-war era. Even more than 80 years after its production, it stands out in terms of specification, design, size, and preservation.
