COMMENT

オメガの角型ムーブメントT17を搭載したレクタンギュラーモデル。オメガの中で種類の少ない角型ムーブメントの1つ、T17は30年代らしい古典的なムーブメントです。銀色メッキの受け、オーバーコイルに温度補正用の切りテンプと繊細な技術が詰まっています。アンクルの形が変わっており、狭い機械に収める為のいびつな形状に、重心を安定させる工夫がなされています。レトロモダンな雰囲気の漂う文字盤は手が込んでいます。サークル状のミニッツトラックと放射状に配したインデックスにより、広がりが感じられる意匠です。時針の根元が角形の珍しいデザインは同系統のレクタングルで時折見られるものです。腕に沿ってゆるくカーブした裏蓋は着け心地が良いです。バンドはバネ棒を使用しないパリスカンです。

ダイアルは、経年を感じる焼けですが、世代を考えると充分良い程度です。ブルースチールの針は3本とも発色良く残り、入水が少なかった経緯を感じます。当時稀少であった高級素材のステイブライトケースは、多数小傷がある状態ですが、2重のケースが当時のまま残っています。

弊社で分解掃除を済ませていますので、43時間以上のパワーリザーブを確認しています。世代が古くとも、きちんとした整備を施すことで、使用し易くなります。ただクラシックと言うだけでなく、どこかモダンな雰囲気の漂ったオメガはいかがでしょうか。

腕時計が普及し始めた1910年代から手巻き、自動巻と変遷を経て、クオーツ時計の開発によって機械式時計が衰退します。それ以前の1960年代に機械式腕時計はひとつのピークに達します。当時は日本でも三種の神器の一つだったオメガの時計。持つ人のステータスとなる高級品で、各メーカーが精度や防水性、耐久性など切磋琢磨し開発した時代。コストをかけて、より良い時計造りのためにしのぎを削っていました。

Among the relatively rare angular movements within Omega, the T17 stands out as a classical movement reminiscent of the 1930s. It features a silver-plated finish, an overcoil, a temperature-adjusting cut balance, and delicate craftsmanship. The shape of the anchor has been modified to accommodate the narrow mechanism, displaying an irregular shape that stabilizes the center of gravity. The dial exudes a retro-modern ambiance, intricate in its design. A circular minute track and radially placed indexes create a sense of expansion. The base of the hour hand boasts an unusual angular design, occasionally observed in similar rectangular models. The case back, gently curved to follow the wrist, ensures a comfortable fit. The band is a fixed lugs design without spring bars.

The dial exhibits a charming patina indicative of aging, yet considering its era, it maintains a sufficiently good condition. The blue steel hands are vividly colored, indicating minimal exposure to water. The Stabrite case, a luxury material rare at the time, displays multiple small scratches, but the double case structure remains intact.

Having undergone disassembly and cleaning by our team, we have confirmed a power reserve of over 43 hours. Despite its age, proper maintenance enhances usability. This Omega timepiece not only exudes classic charm but also carries a subtle modern allure. How about considering this unique blend?
