OMEGA Speedmaster Ref.145.022 Apollo XI 20th Anniversary Model

1989年製のスピードマスター145.022のご紹介です。アポロ11号月面着陸20周年モデルでUS版2000本＋ドイツ版250本+全世界版約4000本の約6250本限定生産です。記念モデルの特徴として、ケースサイドに「APOLLO XI 1969」と刻まれています。US版やドイツ版は刻印の前に、「製造個体番号/2000 or 250」が入るので、こちらは全世界版の個体になります。レターは90年代初頭までプリントされていた、Speedmaster表記のSが長く、rが下がっている通称「下がりr」が特徴です。夜行塗料はトリチウムを採用しています。後年には現行品でも使用されているルミノバに変わってしまうので、トリチウムによるヴィンテージ特有の雰囲気が楽しめる最後の文字盤となります。また、この年式より後のものはラグ裏にケースシリアルが入ります。ブレスレットはコマがバックルからラグへ向かうにつれて、徐々に大きくなっていく、86年～90年代初頭に採用されたRef.1450通称カマボコブレスを装備しています。エンドピース（FF）は808番で全てオリジナルです。ムーブメントは1988年に赤金メッキから金メッキ仕様に変化したCal.861を搭載しています。アーカイブが付属します。

ケースは多少の打痕がありますが手が入っておらず、ツイストラグの複雑なプロポーションを程度よく保持しています。スレが目立ちやすいベゼルは状態良く残り、黒々としています。ケースバックにはオメガが工場出荷時に付ける赤いシーリングスタンプが現存しています。ダイアルはパーフェクトです。傷や劣化はなく、針やインダイアルにダメージは見当たりません。ルミナスはこの上なく美しいベージュ焼けをしています。色味が濃くスピードマスターの無骨な表情をより引き立てていて、最高評価のエイジングです。ブレスに伸びは少なくフレッシュな装着感です。当店にてオーバーホール済みで、パワーリザーブ48時間以上を記録しています。ビデオを掲載していますので、是非ご確認ください。

スピードマスターは1969年のNASAによる月面着陸から現在までの約50年間、ほとんどその形状を変化させることなく製造を続けています。20周年記念モデルのこちらは約30年前の個体。細かなディティールはヴィンテージスピードマスターの妙味があります。

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名な話。

Introducing the Speedmaster 145.022 from 1989, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. This model was part of a limited edition production, with approximately 6250 pieces globally, including 2000 for the US version, 250 for the German version, and the rest for the worldwide edition. As a distinctive feature of the commemorative model, "APOLLO XI 1969" is engraved on the case side. Unlike the US and German versions, the worldwide edition lacks the individual number engraving before the inscription, making it unique. The dial features the characteristic "dropped R," with a longer 'S' in Speedmaster, a style seen in printings up until the early 1990s. The tritium luminous material, used before the shift to Luminova in later years, offers a vintage-specific ambiance. Post-1989, case serial numbers were added to the lug undersides. The bracelet is equipped with the Ref.1450, commonly known as the Kamaboko bracelet, introduced in the late '80s to early '90s, with links gradually increasing in size towards the buckle. The end pieces (FF) are all original 808. It houses the Cal.861 movement, which transitioned from red gold plating to gold plating in 1988. The watch comes with an archive.

The case, although showing minor abrasions, maintains its intricate proportions with well-preserved twisted lugs. The bezel, prone to noticeable wear, remains in good condition with a deep black color. The case back still retains the red sealing stamp applied by Omega during factory shipment. The dial is flawless, devoid of scratches or deterioration, and both hands and sub-dials show no signs of damage. The tritium luminous material boasts a beautiful beige hue, enhancing the rugged appearance of the Speedmaster. The bracelet exhibits minimal stretch, offering a fresh wearing experience. The Speedmaster has retained its form for almost 50 years since NASA's moon landing in 1969. This particular piece, a 30-year-old model, showcases the intricacies that make vintage Speedmasters unique.

While the Speedmaster is now synonymous with space, it originated as a pure motorsport watch with no connection to space. The Speedmaster was the first watch globally to display a tachymeter on the outer bezel instead of the dial, a breakthrough in 1959. In 1959, the Speedmaster underwent a minor change, transitioning the bezel base from black aluminum to an arrow-shaped to alpha-shaped hands, enhancing visibility. NASA sought a robust chronograph capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of space, and the Speedmaster emerged victorious, becoming the official watch. The historic moon landing in 1969 further solidified the Speedmaster's place as a space-travel companion.
