1964年に生産された国内初の150mダイバー、Ref.6217-8001です。国内外共に評価の高い名作で、62MASの名称で呼ばれています。細かいマイナーチェンジにより、様々なバリエーションがありますが、こちらは66年から67年までの約一年間に生産された、ビッグリューズにイルカのケースバックのタイプです。イルカの絵柄は三種類あり、こちらは第二世代のものとなります。ケースは角ばったCラインです。ベゼルは両回転式、スクリューバックです。ダイヤルはグレーのサンレイです。搭載キャリバー6217Aは手巻き機能のない、自動巻機械となります。リューズの一段引きによる日付のクイックチェンジが可能なため、日常使いに重宝しそうな一品です。

ケースはエッジが立った素晴らしいコンディションです。打ち傷がなく、オリジナルプロポーションを堪能できます。ベゼルは適度に小傷を帯び、雰囲気のある表情へ変化しています。ダイヤルは美しく、製造から50年経過したヴィンテージ品とは思えないほどのコンディションです。針やインデックスはルミナスが黒くエイジングしています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

The Ref.6217-8001, the first domestic 150m diver produced in 1964, is widely acclaimed both domestically and internationally, often referred to as the 62MAS. Despite minor changes, resulting in various variations, this particular model was produced for approximately one year from 1966 to 1967, featuring a big crown and a case back adorned with a dolphin motif. There are three types of dolphin motifs, and this belongs to the second generation. The case has a sharp-edged C-line. The bezel is bi-directional, and the case back is screw-down. The dial is a gray sunray finish. It houses the caliber 6217A, an automatic movement without manual winding function. With the ability to quickly change the date through a single-stage pull of the crown, it proves to be a convenient piece for daily wear.

The case is in remarkable condition with sharp edges, allowing you to appreciate its original proportions without any dents. The bezel shows moderate scratches, adding to its atmospheric charm. The dial is beautiful and in such condition that belies its vintage status of over 50 years. The hands and indices have aged with a black luminescent finish. It has been disassembled and cleaned by us.

The guardless, big crown details make it a coveted item among vintage diver watch enthusiasts. From this 62MAS, Seiko's iconic dive watches such as the Uemura Diver and the 63 Diver were born.
