セイコーダイバーの中で3代目となるモデルで、1976年から1979年までに作られた希少な国内向けモデル。海外向けと違い、ハック機能の付いた6306Aを搭載しています。曜日の表記は漢字/英語を選ぶことができます。ベゼルが経年変化で青く変色していて興味深いです。ダイヤルコンディションがとても良く、プリントの色味が抜けず綺麗に残っています。裏蓋のシリアルの刻印は深く研磨状況も大変良好です。手巻が付いていない自動巻きモデルで、巻上げ性能が気になるのが、こちらの時計です。オーバーホールの後のテストが快調で、38時間以上の作動を確認していますので、安心してお使いいただけます。

1960年代は、機械式腕時計は完成期とも言えるほどの発展を遂げた時期で、セイコーは精度コンクールの分野でも量産の分野でも、世界に追いつき、追いぬいた時代であった。同時に、「時計の電子化」が進展し、1969（昭和44）年12月にセイコーが世界初のクオーツ（水晶）腕時計を発売することにより、機械式腕時計からクオーツ腕時計へと大きく舵を切ろうとする時期でもあった。

COMMENT

This Seiko diver model, marking the third generation, is a rare domestic model crafted between 1976 and 1979. In contrast to its international counterpart, it is equipped with the 6306A movement, featuring the hack function. Users can choose between kanji/English for the day display. The bezel has developed an intriguing blue patina over time, adding a unique aspect to its character. The dial is in exceptional condition, with the print colors remaining vivid and beautifully preserved. The serial imprint on the case back is deeply engraved, and the polishing condition is remarkably good. Being an automatic model without manual winding, the winding performance is a point of interest for this watch. Following an overhaul, it underwent successful tests, ensuring reliable operation for over 38 hours, providing peace of mind for its use.

The 1960s witnessed significant advancements in mechanical wristwatches, with Seiko achieving excellence in precision competitions and mass production, leading and surpassing global standards of the time. Simultaneously, the era marked the progress of the "electrification of watches," and in December 1969, Seiko took a pioneering step by releasing the world's first quartz (crystal) wristwatch. This period was a crucial juncture where the watchmaking industry transitioned significantly from mechanical to quartz watches.
