ギャレットやブライトリングと同様用の機能と性能に加えて、トルノーらしい繊細で華やかな意匠が唯一無二のクロノグラフをつくり出しています。外周にミニッツドットがあり、ピンクゴールドのギルトライン、レッドのテレメーター、中央にはブルーのスパイラルタキが入ります。ユーモラスかつ華奢なフォントのアラビア数字に夜光はなく、針はシンプルなブルースチールです。

ケースの状態が素晴らしく、オリジナルのヘアラインやエッジが現存しています。ダイアルのエイジングは発色のよいベージュ色で、素晴らしい一点ものに仕上がっています。

整備におきましては、クラムシェルの性能を十分に引き出すために風防とケースの間に入るパッキンを当店にてシリコン製で製作しました。フルメンテナンスされた1940年代クロノをお楽しみください。

1931年から20年間製造されたギャレットの世界初防水機能を持つクロノグラフのペットネームはClamshell（クラムシェル）。このモデルで採用された特許ケースは通称「Clamshell case（クラムシェルケース）」と呼ばれる。４つのビスによって、ツバ付き風防をトップとバックのケースではさむ構造。

BRAND

1900年、トルノー家はロシア帝国に時計販売事業を設立し、革命後パリスに逃亡した後、1924年にニューヨーク市に移住しました。トルノー兄弟は、時計カウンターのある小さなドレスメイキングショップをオープンしました。販売と製造を行う時計店はオリジナリティの高い商品を世に送り出してきました。

In addition to the functionalities and performance akin to Garrett and Breitling, Tourneau crafts a unique chronograph with delicate and ornate designs typical of Tourneau. Featuring minute dots around the periphery, pink gold gilt lines, a red telemeter, and a blue spiral tachymeter at the center, this piece exudes a distinctive charm. The whimsical and delicate Arabic numerals lack luminescence, while the hands are simple blued steel.

The case is in excellent condition, retaining its original hairline finish and edges. The aging of the dial exhibits a vibrant beige hue, resulting in a remarkable one-of-a-kind piece.

In the servicing, we fabricated silicone gaskets to fit between the crystal and case to fully enhance the clamshell's performance. Enjoy this fully maintained 1940s chronograph.

The nickname "Clamshell" for Garrett's chronograph, which boasted the world's first waterproof function manufactured from 1931 for 20 years, derives from its patent case design, commonly referred to as the "Clamshell case." It features a structure where the top and back of the case sandwich the hooded crystal with four screws.

BRAND

In 1900, the Tourneau family established a watch sales business in the Russian Empire, then fled to Paris after the revolution, finally settling in New York City in 1924. The Tourneau brothers opened a small dressmaking shop with a watch counter, producing and selling watches that were highly original and distinctive.
