ユニバーサル・ジュネーブの最高傑作、トリコンパックスです。3レジスターのクロノグラフに、トリプルカレンダー、そしてムーンフェイズとあらゆる複雑機構を一つに集約したCal.281を搭載しています。

希少なムーブメントを保護するスピリノケースはマイクロラウンドプッシャー・スクリューバックと当時の防水時計です。ケース左側の三つのプッシュは上から月の早送り、ムーンの早送り、そして日付の早送りです。ダイアルは電着塗装によるホワイトダイアル。外周は0.2秒毎に細かくデザインされたミニッツ、楔形インデックス、そして4つのインダイアルが位置します。インダイアルはそれぞれ、12時は日付とムーン、3時は30分積算系、6時は12時間積算系、9時は永久秒針を指します。針はクラシカルなアルファハンドを装備しており、ブルースチールの秒針や小針はダイアルの際まで届きます。エキスパンジョンの効いたゲイフレアー社製のブレスレットを装備しています。

ケースは細かな保管傷のみと傷が少なく、素晴らしいプロポーションを保っています。リューズやプッシャーにダメージが見られないのは、嬉しいポイントです。ダイアルはエイジングにより、赤みを帯びたカラーリングへと変化しています。均一なもので、そこまでヤレた印象は抱きません。針やインデックス、ムーンフェイズはくすみやダメージがなく、瑞々しい印象です。過去に入水歴はないでしょう。ブルースチールの針、レッドプリントの針は色抜けがなく、ポイントカラーとしても素晴らしいです。当店にてオーバーホールは済ませています。作動テストも済ませており、全てのファンクションが好調に動くことを確認しています。ビデオを掲載していますので、ご確認ください。

Ref.22297の中で、-1は最初期のもので特に珍しいです。後年に発売されるトリコンパックス後期モデルのパンダ文字盤は、そのデザインの秀逸さと英国出身のギタリストの神様、エリック・クラプトンに着用された背景も相まって価格の高騰が激しいです。この時計の伝説の数々は言うまでもなく後世の時計史においても語り継がれていくでしょう。

ユニバーサル・ジュネーブの歴史は二人の時計師、エミーユ・デコームとジョルジュ・ペレによって1894年スイスで創業されたところから始まる。高級感溢れるデザインウォッチや複雑時計の製造を得意とし、クロノグラフの名品＜コンパックス＞を開発したことで、その名を時計史に刻んだ名門のブランド。

COMMENT

Introducing the masterpiece from Universal Genève, the Tri-Compax. It features the Cal.281, a movement that seamlessly integrates a 3-register chronograph, triple calendar, and moon phase complications.

The Spiro case, designed to protect the rare movement, includes micro-round pushers, a screw-down back, and boasts waterproof capabilities of its time. The three pushers on the left side allow for quick adjustments to the month, moon phase, and date. The dial, with a white base created through electrostatic coating, intricately displays minutes in 0.2-second intervals, wedge-shaped indices, and four sub-dials. The sub-dials include date and moon phase at 12 o'clock, 30-minute totalizer at 3 o'clock, 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock, and perpetual seconds at 9 o'clock. The watch is equipped with classic alpha hands, and the blue steel second hand and sub-dial hands extend to the edge of the dial. It comes with an expanding Gay Frères bracelet.

The case exhibits minimal storage scratches, maintaining excellent proportions. The absence of damage to the crown and pushers is a pleasing detail. The dial has aged, taking on a reddish hue, but the uniformity and lack of significant wear give a well-preserved impression. The hands, indices, and moon phase show no signs of dullness or damage, presenting a vibrant appearance. There is no history of water exposure. The blue steel and red-printed hands exhibit no fading and add a fantastic color accent. We have completed an overhaul and conducted operational tests, ensuring all functions are in excellent working order. A video is available for your review.

Among the Ref.22297 models, the -1 is particularly rare as an early version. The later models of the Tri-Compax, especially those with a panda dial, released in subsequent years, have seen a significant increase in value, attributed to their outstanding design and the background of being worn by the legendary British guitarist, Eric Clapton. The numerous legends associated with this watch will undoubtedly be passed down in horological history for generations to come.
