ダイヤルにはゴールドギルトのレターが入り、視認性と華やかさを兼ね備えています。本個体は秒針が希少な“Big Dot”仕様で、さらに全刻みのレッドトップベゼルを備えている点で特筆されます。搭載ムーブメントはCal.645で、バブルバック最終キャリバーにあたり、セミバブルバックにも用いられた改良が加えられた信頼性の高い機構です。

ケースにはわずかな使用感が見られるものの、損傷や大きな劣化はなく、理想的なプロポーションをしっかりと維持しています。特に、摩耗や破損の多い真鍮ベゼルやインサートが当時のまま残されている点は稀少で、コレクター評価の高い要素です。ブラックミラーダイヤルは経年により半艶を帯び、下地が浮かび上がるエイジングが個性を与えています。外周のゴールドのミニッツサークルは鮮明に残っており、インデックスと針も美しい状態を保っています。全体として非常にバランスの取れたヴィンテージの風格を備えています。こちらは分解掃除をしておりません。

1953年からわずか2年間のみ製造されたRef.6202「Turn-O-Graph」は、回転ベゼルを備えた最初期のスポーツロレックスとして知られ、後のサブマリーナーやGMT-Masterに繋がる重要なルーツとなるモデルです。わずか数年の製造期間に加え、“Big Dot Hand”やレッドトップベゼルといった希少なディテールを併せ持つ本個体は、スポーツロレックスの誕生を物語る歴史的資料でありながら、実機としての存在感をいまなお鮮やかに伝える特別な一本です。

The dial is adorned with gilt lettering, combining both legibility and elegance. This example features the rare “Big Dot” seconds hand, further distinguished by its full-graduated red-top bezel. It is powered by the Caliber 645, the final movement of the Bubble Back era, incorporating refinements later carried into the Semi-Bubble Back, and admired for its reliability.

The case shows only light signs of use, with no notable damage or loss of definition, preserving its ideal proportions. Particularly remarkable is the brass bezel and insert, both notoriously prone to wear or replacement, which remain intact in original condition—a rarity that significantly enhances collector value. The black gloss dial has aged to a semi-matte sheen, with areas of underlying gilt emerging in attractive patina. The outer gilt minute track remains sharp, while the indexes and hands are beautifully preserved. Altogether, the watch carries a balanced and dignified vintage presence. This example has not undergone disassembly or servicing.

Produced for only two years between 1953 and 1955, the Ref. 6202 “Turn-O-Graph” is recognized as Rolex’s first sports watch with a rotating bezel—a pioneering model that paved the way for the Submariner and GMT-Master. With its short production run and rare features such as the “Big Dot” hand and red-top bezel, this piece stands as both a historically important artifact in the evolution of Rolex sports watches and a watch of striking presence in its own right.
