トノー型ケースのトーチュ。トーチュは直線的なラインを描くタンクやサントスに比べ、必要以上にふくよかなベゼルがエレガントです。ケースは18金無垢。ベゼルとケースサイドは鏡面仕上げ、地肌の触れるケースバックはマットな仕上げです。ダイヤルは凝った仕上げが施してあります。波打つようなギョシェを外と内に施し、段をつけたミニッツを境としています。ローマインデックスは湾曲したケースに沿って配置され、大きく際立ちを見せています。針はブルースチールのバトンで、カルティエらしいです。純正ボックス、ホワイトゴールド製の純正Aバックルが付属します。

ケースは素晴らしいコンディションを維持しています。ふくよかなプロポーションは販売当時のままで、鏡面仕上げには気になるような深い傷は見られません。ダイヤルはミントです。質感を完璧に残しており、高く評価できます。弊社にて分解掃除は済ませているため、完全なコンディションでトーチュを堪能いただけます。ビデオを掲載しています。

トーチュは、カルティエの腕時計の歴史の中でも特に古く、タンクが登場する5年ほど前、サントスのリリースと同じ1912年頃に登場したと言われています。ルイカルティエがデザインし亀にインスパイアされたこのケース形状は、当時ラウンド型が主流だった高級時計市場で傑出した存在となりました。100年以上愛された伝統的なデザインであり、カルティエウォッチの中でも最重要モデルの一つとなっています。

The Tortue in tonneau-shaped case. Compared to tanks and Santos with their linear lines, the Tortue features an elegantly robust bezel. The case is crafted from solid 18-carat gold. The bezel and case sides boast a polished finish, while the case back, which comes in contact with the skin, has a matte finish. The dial exhibits intricate detailing, with waves of guilloché both on the exterior and interior, demarcated by stepped minutes. Roman numerals gracefully line the curved case, standing out prominently. The hands are of Cartier's signature blue steel baton style. It comes with its original box and a white gold A buckle.

The case is in superb condition, maintaining its full proportions from the time of sale, with no noticeable deep scratches on the polished surface. The dial is in mint condition, preserving its texture flawlessly and highly commendable. The Tortue is one of the oldest among Cartier's watch collections, believed to have appeared around 1912, approximately five years before the Tank and around the same time as the Santos. Designed by Louis Cartier and inspired by a tortoise, this case shape stood out in the luxury watch market, which was dominated by round shapes at the time. With over a century of adoration, it remains a traditional design cherished as one of Cartier's most significant models.
