COMMENT

タートルと呼ばれるクションケースは、頑強かつ装着しやすい優れたデザインです。ドットインデックスとペンシル針にアロー針を組み合わせた独特のデザインが特徴的なダイヤル。秒針には通称“ロリポップ”と呼ばれる丸型のディテールが施され、遊び心のある表情を演出しています。カレンダーは英語とローマ数字による曜日表示を備えたダブルカレンダー仕様。両方向回転式のベゼルはローレットが二重構造となっており、操作性に優れています。

ケースには多少の傷が見られるものの、がっしりとしたシルエットは崩れておらず、全体として良好なプロポーションを保っています。ベゼルには細かなスレが確認されますが、色味の変化は最小限にとどまり、視認性の高いコンディションです。ダイヤルはエイジングの影響がほとんど感じられず、クリアな印象を保っています。針にはややくすみが見られるものの、落ち着いたトーンでヴィンテージらしい趣を添えています。針とインデックスに塗布された夜光塗料はエイジングが非常に少なく、ホワイトに近い明るい色味を維持しています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

Ref.6309-7040は、日本国外仕様のダイバーモデル。曜日表記にスペイン語が採用されていることから、スペイン語圏市場向けに製造されたものです。ダイバーはもちろんですが、軍人や特殊部隊たちにも選ばれた功績があります。1970年代のセイコーが誇る高い技術とデザイン力を堪能できる、実用性と個性を兼ね備えた一本です。

COMMENT

The cushion-shaped case—nicknamed the “Turtle”—is known for its rugged construction and comfortable fit, making it a highly functional and wearable design. The dial features a distinctive combination of dot indexes, pencil hands, and an arrow-shaped hour hand. The seconds hand is accented with a playful round detail known as the “lollipop,” adding character to the overall aesthetic. The watch is equipped with a bilingual day-date display in English and Spanish. The bidirectional rotating bezel features a dual-knurl edge, enhancing grip and ease of operation.

While the case shows some signs of wear, its robust silhouette remains intact, and the watch retains strong proportions overall. The bezel exhibits light surface marks, but its color has remained largely unchanged, maintaining excellent legibility. The dial is crisp and clean with little to no signs of aging, preserving a fresh and refined appearance. The hands show a slight patina, which enhances the vintage charm without detracting from readability. The luminous paint on both the hands and indexes remains bright, leaning toward an off-white hue with minimal aging. The watch has been fully overhauled and serviced by our workshop.

Reference 6309-7040 is a diver’s model produced for markets outside Japan. The inclusion of Spanish day display indicates it was intended for Spanish-speaking regions. This model was favored not only by divers but also by military personnel and special forces units.
