国産ヴィンテージ時計の中でも人気の高いセイコークロノ、Ref.6139-6000です。通称ペプシベゼルと呼ばれる赤青のツートンカラーベゼルに、ダークブルーのダイヤルが組み合わされています。こちらは61クロノの最初期モデルです。 初期型は細かな点で後期型と異なっており、リューズが収まる部分に切り欠きが採用されています。 ダイヤルとケースバックの防水表記が「WATER RESISTANT」ではなく「WATER PROOF」となっています。「５ロゴ」は9時位置に配されています。リューズは引かずに回すことで、インナーベゼルを回転させることが可能です。国内市場向けのモデルで、曜日が日本語と英語の二カ国表記になっています。ケースはいかにも70年代らしい重厚なCラインケースを採用しています。

ケースは、大ぶりなカッティングをしたラグのエッジをよく残しています。小傷が少々見られますが、無骨なヴィンテージウォッチの印象にマッチします。ダメージを受けやすいベゼルに退色や傷が見当たりません。ベゼルの状態で時計の印象は大きく左右されますので、大きなポイントとなります。ダイヤルはミントコンディションです。針はプリントの剥げが無く、きらりと光を反射します。インデックスのルミナスは程よく焼けています。

搭載されているCal.6139は当時では先進性のあった垂直クラッチ、コラムホイールを採用したキャリバーで、日本の技術力の高さを示しています。リューズのプッシュによる、日付、曜日、言語の切り替えが非常に画期的です。通称“61クロノ”と呼ばれる諏訪精工舎製の国産時計初となる名作自動巻きクロノグラフ時計です。

One of the most sought-after vintage Japanese watches, the Seiko Chrono Ref. 6139-6000, known as the "Pepsi Bezel," combines a red-blue two-tone bezel with a dark blue dial. This is an early model of the 61 Chrono series. The initial versions differ from later models in minor details, featuring a notch where the crown sits. The dial and case back indicate "WATER PROOF" instead of "WATER RESISTANT." The "5 logo" is positioned at 9 o'clock. By rotating the crown without pulling it out, the inner bezel can be adjusted. Designed for the domestic market, this model displays the day in both Japanese and English. The case adopts the robust C-line case typical of the 1970s.

The case retains well-defined edges on the lug with bold cuts. While minor scratches are present, they complement the rugged vintage watch aesthetic. There are no signs of discoloration or scratches on the bezel, a crucial factor influencing the watch's overall impression. The dial is in mint condition, with no print fading, reflecting light beautifully. The luminous material on the indices has aged gracefully.

Equipped with the Cal. 6139, featuring a vertical clutch and column wheel, this movement demonstrates Japan's advanced technological prowess at the time. The push-button operation for date, day, and language adjustment was groundbreaking. This masterpiece automatic chronograph watch, known as the "61 Chrono," is the first domestically produced timepiece by the Suwa Seikosha factory.
