COMMENT

通称“ペプシベゼル”と呼ばれる赤青ツートンの回転ベゼルに、ダークブルーのダイヤルを組み合わせたモデルです。本品は61クロノの初期型で、後期型とは細部の仕様が異なります。リューズ収納部に切り欠きが施されている点や、ダイヤルと裏蓋の防水表記が「WATER PROOF」となっている点がその特徴です。さらに、9時位置に配された「5ロゴ」、リューズを引かずに回すことで操作できるインナーベゼル、曜日表示が日本語と英語の2か国表記となっております。ケースは1970年代らしい重厚なCラインケースを採用しています。

ケースは軽微な使用感はあるものの、シルエットを崩すことなく整った状態を維持。青と赤のベゼルは欠けが少なく、当時の雰囲気を色濃く残しています。ダイヤルはエイジングが最小限で、針はわずかなくすみをまとい、落ち着いた印象に変化。針とインデックスに塗布された夜光塗料は一部が黒変しており、ヴィンテージならではの味わいを加えています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

COMMENT

This model combines the iconic red-and-blue rotating “Pepsi” bezel with a deep blue dial. It is an early version of the 61 Chronograph, distinguishable from later executions by several details: the recessed cut at the crown guard, the “WATER PROOF” designation on both dial and caseback, the applied “5” logo at 9 o’clock, the inner bezel operable without pulling the crown, and the bilingual Japanese/English day display. Its substantial C-line case reflects the bold aesthetic of the 1970s.

The case shows only light signs of wear and retains its original silhouette. The blue-and-red bezel is well preserved with minimal chipping, maintaining its strong vintage character. The dial exhibits negligible aging, while the hands show a subtle patina that lends a calm, matured presence. The lume on the hands and indexes has partially darkened, further enhancing its vintage charm. Serviced and disassembled by our watchmaker.
