This Seamaster comes with a date feature and is equipped with the reliable full-rotor Cal.503, known for its stable movement. The robust case with a wide bezel and lugs is characteristic of the early Seamaster models. The black guilloché dial features gilt lettering throughout. The indices at 12, 6, and 9 are large and trapezoidal, providing a powerful and dynamic face, while the rest are sharp wedges, creating a face with a sense of tension and contrast. The minute hand and slender second hand, both in dauphine style, run in a way that they overlap, adding to the visual interest.

It houses the durable and beautiful Cal.503 movement, which features a red gold-plated base plate. The <500 series caliber> has gained popularity and high praise for its ease of everyday use.
