39mm径のスーパージャンボケースのオメガです。ムーブメントはスモールセコンドの30mmキャリバー、その歴史の中で円熟期と言えるcal.265搭載しています。インカブロックの耐震装置を備え、巻き上げヒゲとチラネジがクラシックな造りのムーブメントです。ダイアルは内側と外側で仕上げを変えたツートンダイアル、ルミナスはありません。インデックスは飛びアラビアです。クサビはエンボスタイプ、アラビアはメッキのように光を反射をする仕上げです。針はリーフハンドです。ストレートラグは一見シンプルですが、ケースの大きさをカバーするように、サイドビューがまろやかにカーブして腕に沿うデザインです。ラグ上面の角度がドーム型風防から流れるような曲線で美しいです。

ケースは使用感を感じますが、大きな損傷は見当たりません。ベゼルやラグのエッジがしっかりとしています。ダイアルは適度に経年変化しています。70年前のものとして見ると、美品の部類かと思います。針はパーフェクト、メッキの剥げがなく、鏡面が綺麗に光ります。インデックスは、程度の浅いエイジングです。

シンプルな時計でここまで大きくて薄いケースは、ヴィンテージから現行品まで見てもとても珍しいです。腕をしっかりと覆うケースは懐中時計を腕につけているようで、この時計でしか味わえない装着感です。貴重な、オメガのアーカイブが付属します。

腕時計が普及し始めた1910年代から手巻き、自動巻と変遷を経て、クオーツ時計の開発によって機械式時計が衰退します。それ以前の1960年代に機械式腕時計はひとつのピークに達します。当時は日本でも三種の神器の一つだったオメガの時計。持つ人のステータスとなる高級品で、各メーカーが精度や防水性、耐久性など切磋琢磨し開発した時代。コストをかけて、より良い時計造りのためにしのぎを削っていました。

Introducing the Omega with a super jumbo case diameter of 39mm. It houses the small seconds 30mm caliber, marking the maturity phase in its history, equipped with the cal.265 movement. Featuring Inca-Block shock protection, winding mustache, and classic screw balance, this movement boasts a timeless design. The two-tone dial, differing in finish between the inner and outer sections, lacks luminescence. The indexes are in the form of jumping Arabic numerals, while the hour markers have an embossed finish, reflecting light like plating. The leaf hands complement the design. The straight lugs, seemingly simple at first glance, gracefully curve on the side view to align with the wrist, covering the case's size. The top angle of the lugs forms a beautiful curve flowing from the dome-shaped crystal.

The case exhibits signs of use, but significant damage is not evident. The bezel and lug edges are robust. The dial has aged gracefully, considering it is nearly 70 years old, and could be categorized as excellent condition. The hands are in perfect condition with no plating wear, and the mirror surface shines beautifully. The indexes show minor aging.

A case of this size and thinness in such a simple watch is remarkably rare, whether from vintage or current production. The case that securely envelops the wrist provides a unique wearing experience, resembling wearing a pocket watch on the wrist. The valuable Omega archive accompanies this timepiece.
