1942年製のゼニス、ビザールなモデルです。ダイアルは人気のブラックミラー、盤面は全てギルトで印字されています。アラビアのインデックスは下地の上にルミナスを塗布したものです。ダイアルデザインは秀逸なもので、35mmケースに収まる大型のダイアルをふんだんに生かしたような、三層のサークルラインが施されています。この遊び心はいかにもゼニスらしいのですが、戦時中の腕時計は高価なものでしたし時代背景を考えますと特異な意匠です。針は先端が注射器のように尖ったデザインです。時針は先端が最も内側のチャプターリングに届き、分針は針先が3層のサークルラインにちょうど重なる長さです。全てのデザインに計算が働いており、ゼニスの独創的なセンスの良さが光ります。機械は自社ムーブCal.12.4.P-6を搭載しています。Pはスモールセコンド、-6はインカブロックを指しています。機械にも風防が装着されており、防塵製を考慮しています。

ケースは素晴らしいプロポーションです。ラグやベゼルの角が立っており、傷が少ないです。ブラックミラーのダイアルは完璧な艶感を残しています。さすがに夜光周りにはエイジングが表れていますが、その他、気になるようなダメージは見当たりません。インデックスは素晴らしいベージュカラーです。ブラックミラーの艶とベージュのルミナスはヴィンテージウォッチとしての最高のマッチングを見せています。針は燻したようなカラーに変化しています。針夜光の色味がよく、渋い雰囲気が感じられます。当店にてオーバーホール済みで、47時間のパワーリザーブを確認しています。ご購入後すぐご使用いただけます。

COMMENT

A bizarre model from Zenith, dating back to 1942. The dial features the popular black mirror finish, with all markings done in gilt. The Arabic numerals have luminous paint applied on top. The dial design is exceptional, with three concentric circles taking full advantage of the large dial within the 35mm case. This playful approach, typical of Zenith, is quite unique considering the expensive nature of wristwatches during the wartime era. The hands are designed with pointed tips resembling syringes. The hour hand reaches the innermost chapter ring, while the minute hand aligns perfectly with the three concentric circles. Every aspect of the design is meticulously calculated, showcasing Zenith's innovative sense of style. The watch houses the in-house Cal.12.4.P-6 movement, where 'P' denotes small seconds, and '-6' refers to the Incabloc shock protection system. The movement is also equipped with a windshield for dust protection.

The case boasts excellent proportions, with sharp lugs and bezel edges, and minimal signs of wear. The black mirror dial retains its perfect sheen. Some aging is evident around the luminous material, but there are no significant damages otherwise. The indices have a beautiful beige color. The combination of the glossy black mirror and beige luminous paint creates the perfect vintage aesthetic. The hands have developed a patina-like coloration, with a rich and subdued glow from the luminous material. The watch has been overhauled in our workshop, with a confirmed power reserve of 47 hours, ensuring immediate usability upon purchase.

Zenith, known for producing compact and practical timepieces, introduced larger 35mm cases. The luminous dial, shock-resistant movement, and snap-back case were typical features seen in watches from the early 1940s. Despite the lack of waterproofing, this watch remains in remarkable condition, offering a rare glimpse into pre-war and wartime-era timepieces.
