COMMENT

1970 年代初頭に発売されたチュードル モンテカルロ。ロレックスパーツを用いて作られたこのモンテカルロ Ref. 7159 は、1972年という年式を考慮しても信じられないほど堅牢な時計です。40mmのステンレススチールケースを特徴とし、ねじ込み式リューズ、大きく張り出したリューズ ガード、ロック付きのプッシャー、ベゼルはステンレス製で、摩耗に強いです。ダイヤルはユニークです。ルーレットホイールのようなデザインで、オレンジの差し色はロレックスにはないチュードル独自の芸当です。9 時位置に永久秒針、3時位置に45 積算計を備えています。搭載ムーブメントはコラムホイールのValjoux 234です。ロレックス純正20mm巻きブレスRef.7836/258 クラスプコード 72/1を装備しています。

ケースはプロポーションが良く、肉厚なラグが楽しめます。ベゼルやリューズは良いコンディションを保っています。目立った打痕が見られず、ファンクションも正常通り作動します。ダイヤルはミントです。この時計の一番のポイントでもある、奇抜な配色は当時のままを完全に維持しています。夜光塗料やプリントにも欠けが見られず、高評価です。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

モンテカルロはその独特の外観、ロレックス デイトナとの類似性により、当時チュードルの最も有名なスポーツモデルとして広く知られました。近年ではチュードルはロレックスからは離れ、独自路線に進んでおり、このようなヴィンテージモデルはデイトナと比較されることなく、デザインとクオリティで評価されつつあります。

BRAND

1926年にROLEXのイギリス普及拡大のため誕生したディフュージョンブランド。ブランド名もイギリスの名門『チューダー家』にちなんだもので市民に親しみやすさをアピールしようとしていたことが窺い知れる。ヴィンテージチュードル人気のポイントはやはり、ケースやリューズなどROLEXのパーツが使われていること、チューダー家の薔薇の紋章をロゴに採用したことでロレックスと同じケースながら、ダイアルにはバラのロゴが配された“デカバラ”や“小バラ”と呼ばれるチュードル独自の人気モデルが誕生した。その後チュードルはロゴを盾をモチーフにしたものに変更し現在ではROLEXからは離れ、独自路線を進むことになる。

The Tudor Monte Carlo, released in the early 1970s, stands out as a remarkable timepiece considering its 1972 vintage. Crafted with Rolex parts, the Monte Carlo Ref. 7159 features a robust 40mm stainless steel case with a screw-down crown, prominent crown guards, a lockable pusher, and a durable stainless steel bezel. The dial boasts a unique design reminiscent of a roulette wheel, with orange accents showcasing Tudor's distinctive flair not found in Rolex. Positioned at 9 o'clock is a constant seconds hand, and at 3 o'clock, a 45-minute totalizer. It is powered by the column-wheel Valjoux 234 movement and comes equipped with the Rolex genuine 20mm holded bracelet Ref.7836/258 Clasp Code 72/1.

The case exhibits excellent proportions with substantial lugs for visual appeal. The bezel and crown are well-preserved, showing no noticeable scratches, and all functions operate smoothly. The mint condition dial features the bold and unconventional color scheme, a standout feature of this timepiece. The luminescent material and printing show no signs of wear, earning high praise. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our team.

The Tudor Monte Carlo gained widespread recognition as Tudor's most famous sports model at the time, thanks to its distinctive appearance and similarities to the Rolex Daytona. In recent years, Tudor has moved away from Rolex, and vintage models like the Monte Carlo are now appreciated for their design and quality without direct comparison to the Daytona.

Created in 1926 to expand Rolex's presence in the UK, Tudor is a diffusion brand with a name inspired by the prestigious Tudor family of England. The brand aimed to appeal to the public with a name associated with the Tudor family's legacy. The popularity of vintage Tudor watches stems from the use of Rolex parts in cases, crowns, and other components. Tudor's distinctive models, such as the "Big Rose" or "Small Rose," featured the Tudor family's rose emblem on the dial, creating unique and popular timepieces. Although Tudor later changed its logo to a shield motif and moved away from Rolex, it continues on its independent path.
