COMMENT

ローマンナンバーが縦に整然と並んだ。通称“縦ローマ”ダイアルのマストタンクです。淡いマットホワイトの盤面に縦のギルトストライプが入った、マニッシュで潔いデザインです。ブルースチールの針とブルーのカボションリューズ、そして戦車のような形状のケースが名作タンクのアイデンティティーです。

ケースは当店で新品仕上げを行っておりますので、ガラスも含めて傷が無く綺麗です。ベルトはクロコダイル製でタンク専用オリジナルのサイズのままに製作しております。ダイヤルも清潔感があります。カルティエ純正のバックルが装備されておりますので、そのオリジナル性をお楽しみ頂けます。

マストシリーズには＜vermeil（ヴェルメイユ）＞という、シルバーの上に厚く金を貼る加工技術が用いられ手間とコストがかかっているため高級感のある仕様。

BRAND

現在では、ジュエラーとして名高いカルティエですが、まだ懐中時計が主流だった1904年に本格的な腕時計を製作したのはカルティエが最初でした。「タンク」という名前は、“戦車”を意味し、第一次世界大戦中の終結に貢献したといわれる、ルノー製の戦車がデザインの基となっています。その中でもマストシリーズは文字盤のバリエーションが豊富にあります。

COMMENT

This Must de Cartier Tank features the iconic “Vertical Roman” dial, characterized by vertically aligned Roman numerals arranged in perfect order. The matte ivory dial is accented by subtle vertical gilt stripes, creating a clean and refined, slightly androgynous aesthetic. The blued steel hands, blue cabochon crown, and tank-inspired case design all contribute to the enduring identity of the Tank collection.

The case has been professionally refinished by our shop and is in excellent condition with no visible scratches, including on the glass. The strap is made of crocodile leather and crafted to match the original dimensions specific to the Tank. The dial is clean and well-preserved, while the presence of the original Cartier buckle further enhances the authenticity of the piece.

The Must series uses a technique called vermeil, in which a thick layer of gold is applied over sterling silver—a labor-intensive and costly method that imparts a distinct sense of luxury.

While Cartier is now globally recognized as a prestigious jeweler, it was also among the first to seriously explore wristwatch design in 1904, when pocket watches still dominated. The name “Tank” is derived from the Renault military tanks that played a role in ending World War I, which inspired the shape of the case. Among the many variants of the Tank, the Must de Cartier line stands out for its wide range of dial variations, offering both elegance and individuality in every piece.
