サントスオクタゴンは、カルティエが1970年代に展開したスポーツラインのひとつで、八角形のベゼルが特徴的なデザインです。1990年頃に生産終了となったため、現行モデルには見られないディテールが随所に残っています。ダイヤルはポーセリン調のラッカーホワイトで、ミニッツトラックやローマインデックス、サークルラインが調和した美しい構成。ブルースチールのバトンハンドと、カボションリューズに施された貴石の色味が絶妙なアクセントを添えています。ムーブメントにはCal.2671を搭載しています。

ケースは小傷が少なく、全体に清潔感のある良好なコンディションです。ダイヤルはごく細かなクラックが見受けられますが、視認性には影響のないレベルで、全体として整った印象を保っています。針はブルースチールの鮮やかな発色を維持しており、インデックスにも欠けや剥離は見られません。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

1900年代、飛行士サントス・デュモンが飛行中に時刻を確認できるようカルティエにオーダーしたのが「サントス」の始まり。そのサントスのなかでも八角形型モデル「サントスオクタゴン」は、平面上にカットが入ったブレスが、腕を動かす度にキラキラと煌めきます。シンプルながらもエレガントな印象を与えるモデルです。

COMMENT

The Santos Octagon is one of Cartier’s sportier lines introduced in the 1970s, notable for its distinctive octagonal bezel. Discontinued around 1990, this model retains several design elements that are no longer present in modern versions. The dial features a porcelain-like lacquered white finish with a harmonious combination of minute track, Roman numerals, and a circular railway line. Blued steel baton hands and a gemstone-set cabochon crown add refined accents. It is powered by the reliable automatic Caliber 2671.

The case is in excellent condition with only minimal surface wear, maintaining a clean and well-preserved appearance. The dial shows extremely fine hairline cracks, though they do not affect legibility or the overall impression. The hands retain their vibrant blued finish, and the applied indexes remain intact without chipping or loss. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

The flat-cut bracelet sparkles under the light, giving the piece the refined presence of a luxury bangle. This specific style, known as "godron," is exclusive to the automatic version.
