COMMENT

1960年代にゼニスが発表した洗練されたクロノグラフです。18金無垢ケースは幅の狭いベゼルとファセットを施したストレートラグを備え、ドレスモデルのような繊細さが漂います。古典的なスクエアプッシャーに、小ぶりで上品な純正リューズが組み合わされ、端正な佇まいを形成しています。ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ仕上げ。外周にはタキメータースケール、3時位置には45分積算計、9時位置にはクロスライン入りの永久秒針を配し、実用性と視認性を十分に備えています。全体がシンプルにまとめられている分、ゼニスの象徴であるスターロゴが静かに存在感を放っています。ムーブメントはユニバーサル社Cal.285を基にゼニスが改良を施したCal.146DPで、この年代のゼニスを代表する名機のひとつです。

ケースは傷が少なく、プロポーションの良さをしっかりと残した状態です。ケースバックのヘアラインや刻印も当時のまま美しく維持されています。ダイヤルはミントコンディションで、艶めきを帯びたサンレイ仕上げは水面のような美しい質感を保っています。針やインデックスも素晴らしい状態を維持しており、全体として非常に好印象です。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

奇抜なデザインを得意としたゼニスですが、造り込みの確かさからシンプルなクロノグラフでも一級品の仕上がりを見せます。時分針とセンタークロノ秒針のフォルムには、ゼニス独自の感性が色濃く表れています。ミニマルな外観ゆえに、細部の意匠へのこだわりが際立つ一本です。

COMMENT

This refined chronograph from the 1960s exemplifies Zenith’s elegant design language of the era. The solid 18K gold case features a narrow bezel and faceted straight lugs, giving it the poise of a dress watch with subtle architectural tension. Classical square pushers are paired with a small, elegantly proportioned original crown, resulting in a balanced and dignified profile. The dial is finished in a silver sunburst, with a tachymeter scale around the perimeter, a 45-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and a cross-hair small seconds at 9 o’clock—achieving both practicality and clarity. Minimalist in layout, it allows the signature Zenith star to stand out with quiet distinction. Powering the watch is the Cal.146DP, Zenith’s refined version of the Universal Genève Cal.285, and one of the most celebrated hand-wound chronograph movements of the period.

The case shows very little wear and retains its strong proportions. The hairline finish and engravings on the caseback remain sharp and well preserved. The dial is in mint condition, its sunburst texture displaying a lustrous, water-like sheen. The hands and indexes are similarly well preserved, contributing to an overall impression of exceptional care and quality. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Although Zenith is often associated with bold or unconventional designs, the firm’s craftsmanship ensures that even its simplest chronographs exhibit remarkable refinement.
