COMMENT

ダイヤルは中央がわずかに隆起し、縦方向のヘアライン仕上げが施された上品な表情です。針は当時よく見られた細身のペンシルハンドを採用し、端正な印象を与えます。インデックスはバータイプで、6・9・12時のみ二重構造とすることで視覚的なアクセントを加えています。外周にミニッツラインを備え、細かな時間の判読性を高めています。リューズは当時の“魚リューズ”がそのまま残っており、防水性を示すクラシカルなディテールです。

ケースは使用感が少なく、特に風防まわりは打痕がほとんど見られず、優れた状態を保っています。裏蓋にごく軽い打痕こそありますが、ヘアラインの仕上げは美しく維持されています。ダイヤルは非常に良好なコンディションで、一部にわずかなエイジングが見られる程度です。針とインデックスは軽いくすみが確認できますが、輝きはしっかりと残り、整った印象を与えます。夜光塗料は自然なベージュへと変化し、ヴィンテージらしい落ち着いた風合いを添えています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

IWCは、アメリカマサチューセッツ州ボストン出身の時計師、フロレンタイン・アリオスト・ジョーンズが1868年に創立しました。特徴的なデザインで今なお世界中で人気を誇る「パイロット・ウォッチ」コレクションなど、多くの人気シリーズを発売しています。磁気から時計を守るための軟鉄製インナーケースや、IWC独自のペラトン式と呼ばれる両回転式自動巻機構はあまりにも有名。

COMMENT

The dial features a subtle central dome and a refined vertical brushed finish, giving it an understated yet elegant character. Slim pencil hands—typical of the period—contribute to its clean and balanced appearance. The bar indexes are accented by a double-layered structure at 6, 9, and 12 o’clock, adding a discreet sense of depth. A minute track along the periphery enhances precision in time reading. The crown is the original “fish crown,” a classical detail used by IWC to indicate water resistance during this era.

The case shows minimal signs of use, with notably few marks around the crystal—an area prone to wear—preserving an excellent overall impression. The caseback bears only a light indentation, and the original brushed finish remains beautifully intact. The dial is remarkably well preserved, with only slight aging visible upon close inspection. Both the hands and indexes exhibit mild patina, yet retain their shine and coherence. The luminous material has aged into a natural beige tone, adding a calm and period-appropriate warmth to its appearance. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.
