国産時計の最高峰、グランドセイコーの1stモデル、Ref.J14070です。1960年から1963年にかけて生産されたこのモデルは、厚さ80ミクロンの14カラット金張りケースに、程よく太めのラグを組み合わせた丸みのあるラウンドケースを備えています。ダイヤルはクリーミーなホワイトで、ゴールドケースとのコンビネーションにより、しっとりとした高級感が漂うフェイスを実現しています。インデックスは多面カットのバー、針は上面がフラットなドーフィンを採用。Grand Seikoロゴは彫り込みによるもので、1960年代後半から1961年中頃までの約1年間製造されたといわれます。6時上の星マークが付いたものは、SD文字盤と呼ばれ、インデックスには金無垢素材が使用されています。搭載ムーブメントのCal.3180は、セイコー初のハック機能を搭載したモデルです。希少なクロノメーター検定書が付属します。

ケースには少々の傷が見られるものの、全体的に整ったシルエットが保たれており、良好な印象を与えます。ベゼルとガラスには目立つ傷がなく、美しい状態を維持しています。ダイヤルも非常に良好で、傷や汚れが最小限に抑えられており、ロゴやミニッツマーカーはオリジナルの状態をしっかりと保っています。厳正に判断しますと、40分方向やメーカーロゴ周り、20分から30分にかけて外周に微細な経年変化が確認できますが、現存するJ14070の中では良好なコンディションだと思われます。針はくすみが見られず、光を受けて美しく輝きます。また、インデックスはシャープなファセットを維持しており、全体的に高いコンディションを誇る個体です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

The pinnacle of Japanese watchmaking, this is the first Grand Seiko model, Ref. J14070. Produced between 1960 and 1963, it features a 14-carat gold-filled case with an 80-micron thickness, paired with slightly thicker lugs that create a rounded and refined profile. The creamy white dial, combined with the gold case, exudes understated elegance and a sense of luxury. The indexes are multi-faceted bars, while the flat-topped dauphine hands complement the design beautifully. The Grand Seiko logo is engraved, a detail found on models produced between late 1960 and mid-1961. The star emblem above the 6 o’clock marker signifies the rare “SD dial,” indicating the use of solid gold for the indexes. Powering this watch is the Cal. 3180, the first Seiko movement equipped with a hacking function.

The case shows minor signs of wear, but the overall silhouette remains well-preserved, offering a clean and balanced impression. The bezel and crystal are free from noticeable scratches, maintaining a pristine appearance. The dial is in excellent condition with minimal blemishes, and the original logo and minute markers are intact. The hands exhibit no tarnishing and reflect light beautifully, while the sharply faceted indexes retain their crisp finish.
