セイコーのクロノグラフの中でも高い人気を誇る、通称“ベビーパンダ”ことRef.6138-8000。シルバーサンレイ仕上げダイヤルを配したツーカウンター構成が特徴で、視認性とデザインバランスの両面で優れています。幅広のバーインデックスと立体的なケースフォルムが精悍な印象を与え、国産クロノグラフの完成形のひとつとして知られるモデルです。純正ブレスレットを装備しています。

ケースはエッジが立ち、打痕や削れのない美しい状態を維持しています。オリジナルのフォルムを損なわず、ヴィンテージとして高い評価に値するコンディションです。ダイヤルはくすみや汚れがほとんどなく、針・インデックスともに鮮明な状態。夜光塗料の欠けはなく、ホワイトカラーを維持しています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

1960年代は、機械式腕時計は完成期とも言えるほどの発展を遂げた時期で、セイコーは精度コンクールの分野でも量産の分野でも、世界に追いつき、追いぬいた時代であった。同時に、「時計の電子化」が進展し、1969（昭和44）年12月にセイコーが世界初のクオーツ（水晶）腕時計を発売することにより、機械式腕時計からクオーツ腕時計へと大きく舵を切ろうとする時期でもあった。

COMMENT

Among Seiko’s chronographs, the Ref.6138-8000—affectionately nicknamed the “Baby Panda”—remains one of the most celebrated models. Its two-register layout set against a silver sunray dial achieves an exceptional balance between functionality and design. The broad bar indexes and sculpted case lend a sharp, modern presence, representing one of the most accomplished forms of the Japanese mechanical chronograph. This example is fitted with its original Seiko bracelet.

The case retains well-defined edges and shows no notable dents or abrasions, preserving its original profile in beautiful condition. The dial remains remarkably clean with no signs of tarnish or discoloration, and both hands and indexes are crisp. The luminous material is intact with a consistent white tone.
