KING SEIKO Ref.15034 1st Model

COMMENT

このキングセイコーは、1961年から1964年まで製造されていた初代モデルです。こちらは後期型で、ケース径が1ミリ大きくなり、ラグも太くなっており、44KSへの移行を感じさせるデザインです。当時、ロービートながら高精度を誇り、同時期に諏訪精工舎で製造されていた「グランドセイコー」に対抗して設計された時計としても有名です。

ケースは小キズこそあるものの、大きな打痕や目立つ傷がなく、全体的に良好なコンディションです。ダイヤルはエイジングによる色味の変化が少なく、非常に好印象な仕上がりです。針はくすみが最小限で、ドーフィンハンドのシャープなファセットが美しく際立ちます。インデックスも同様に輝きを保ち、洗練された印象を与えます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

力強い印象を持つSEIKOの顔つき。それでいて、夜光塗料のないシルバーダイヤルの冷淡な表情が、独特の華やかさを醸し出しています。シンプルながらも洗練されたデザインは、時を重ねるごとに風格を増し、長く付き合える相棒となるでしょう。

キングセイコーは1961年8月に亀戸の第二精工舎にて開発され、グランドセイコーに次ぐ高級腕時計としてセイコーの時計史において欠かすことのできない名品腕時計となっています。

COMMENT

This King Seiko is the first-generation model, produced from 1961 to 1964. This particular example is a later version, featuring a slightly larger case diameter by 1mm and thicker lugs, hinting at the transition toward the 44KS. Despite being a low-beat movement, it was renowned for its high precision and was designed as a direct competitor to the Grand Seiko, which was being developed by Suwa Seikosha during the same period.  

The case remains in good overall condition, with minor scratches but no significant dents or noticeable damage. The dial has aged gracefully with minimal color changes, presenting an exceptionally well-preserved appearance. The hands retain their sharp dauphine facets with only minimal tarnishing, standing out beautifully. Similarly, the applied indices maintain their luster, enhancing the watch’s refined character. The watch has been fully serviced by our workshop.  

King Seiko carries a bold and distinctive Seiko aesthetic, yet the silver dial, free of luminous material, lends it a uniquely refined elegance. Its simple yet sophisticated design gains more character over time, making it a timepiece that continues to grow in distinction—a reliable companion for years to come.  

BRAND

Developed in August 1961 at the Kameido-based Daini Seikosha, King Seiko holds an essential place in Seiko’s watchmaking history as a high-end timepiece, positioned just below Grand Seiko in prestige.
