COMMENT

洗練された印象を備える樽型のCラインケースは、ジェラルド・ジェンタがデザインを手がけ、1970年前後に多く見られた意匠です。本作は後期型のガラス風防ではなく、前期型ならではのドーム型風防を備えており、よりヴィンテージテイストを色濃く楽しめます。フラットなスムースベゼルはスポーティーな表情を強調。ダイヤルには、このリファレンスでは極めて希少な寒色系のグレーダイヤルを採用しています。レターはすべてギルト仕様。初期個体に見られるドーフィンハンドを組み合わせ、針とインデックスには夜光塗料が施されています。複雑にカッティングされたカレンダー枠など、細部まで抜かりのない造り込みです。ブレスレットは純正のRef.1040に、エンドリンク518を装備しています。

ケースは良好なプロポーションを維持しており、ラグのエッジ部分に施された鏡面の面取りも綺麗に残っています。ダイヤルは非常に美しい状態で、カラーダイヤルにありがちな塗料の剥がれは見られません。夜光は均一に落ち着いたベージュトーンへと変化し、ヴィンテージらしい風合いを備えています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

寒色系グレーのギルトダイヤル自体が希少な存在ですが、そこに初期型のドーフィンハンドが組み合わさることで、本作は一段と印象的な佇まいを見せます。Cラインケースのシャープさと相まって、70年前後のモダンさとヴィンテージの空気感が高い次元で融合した一本です。このダイヤルコンディションは市場でも出会う機会が限られており、デザイン性と希少性の両面から見ても、強い個性を放つ個体といえます。

COMMENT

The refined barrel-shaped C-line case, designed by Gérald Genta, is a form frequently seen around 1970. This example is fitted with the earlier domed crystal rather than the later flat glass, allowing for a more pronounced vintage character. The flat, smooth bezel enhances its sporty presence. The dial is executed in a cool-toned grey, an exceptionally rare choice for this reference. All lettering is gilt. It features the early-type dauphine hands, with luminous material applied to both the hands and hour markers. The calendar frame is intricately cut, reflecting the careful attention paid to even the smallest details. The watch is fitted with its correct original bracelet, Ref. 1040, with end links 518.

The case retains well-balanced proportions, and the polished chamfers along the edges of the lugs remain clearly defined. The dial is in excellent condition; color dials from this period often suffer from flaking or deterioration of the paint, none of which is present here. The luminous material has aged evenly to a soft beige tone, adding an appealing vintage atmosphere. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Cool-toned grey dials are inherently rare, and when paired with early dauphine hands, this watch takes on an especially striking presence. Combined with the sharp lines of the C-line case, it achieves a high-level balance between the modern spirit of the early 1970s and a distinctly vintage sensibility.
