スピードマスターは、半世紀にわたり製造されてきた歴史の中で、幾度となくマイナーチェンジを重ねてきたモデルです。その中でも特に注目すべき一本が、1985年に世界1300本限定でリリースされた、スピードマスター初のムーンフェイズ搭載モデル、通称「スピーディームーン」です。複雑でありながら整ったダイヤルレイアウトと、ムーンウォッチならではのスポーティなツイストラグが織りなすデザインは、機能美と造形美の融合と言えます。ムーブメントはCal.861をベースにムーンフェイズ機構を追加したCal.866。ブレスレットは希少なRef.1450、エンドリンク809が装着されています。

本個体は、ほとんど使用感が見られない極めて優れたコンディションを保っています。ケースはシャープなプロポーションを維持し、ツイストラグのエッジが明瞭です。裏蓋には販売当時のブルーシールと赤いシーリングスタンプが、そのまま残されており、コレクションピースとしての価値を高めています。ベゼルは黒々とした深みを保ち、目立つダメージはありません。ダイヤルは完全な状態で、劣化は一切見られません。針のホワイトプリントの剥がれがなく、インデックスは均一にエイジングし、ベージュカラーに変化。いわゆる黒焼けが起きていないことは、高評価に値します。

現在の状態を尊重し、分解掃除はあえて施しておりません。これは、メンテナンスによるペイントの剥離や意匠への影響を避けるためです。次のオーナー様のご判断で整備いただけるよう、現状販売とさせていただきます。なお、ご希望があれば別途オーバーホールのご対応も可能です。以下、作動テストの結果をご参照ください（参考値）：

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名なお話。

COMMENT

Over its half-century of continuous production, the Speedmaster has undergone countless minor updates—but few are as noteworthy as this: the very first Speedmaster Moonphase model, released in 1985 as a limited edition of 1,300 pieces worldwide. Known among collectors as the “Speedymoon,” it combines a highly legible and well-balanced dial layout with the signature twisted lugs of the Moonwatch, resulting in a seamless fusion of functional and aesthetic design. The movement inside is the Cal.866, an evolution of the Cal.861 with an added moonphase complication. It is fitted with the rare Ref.1450 bracelet and end links marked 809.

This particular example is in outstanding condition, showing virtually no signs of wear. The case retains its sharp lines, with crisp, defined edges on the twisted lugs. Remarkably, the original blue caseback sticker and red sealing stamp remain intact—rare details that significantly enhance its value as a collectible. The bezel remains deep black and free from any visible damage. The dial is flawless, with no signs of deterioration, and the white print on the hands is fully intact. The tritium lume on the indices has aged evenly into a beautiful beige tone, and there is no sign of the typical black corrosion, which is a positive sign of careful storage and preservation.

To preserve its current state, we have deliberately refrained from performing a disassembly and overhaul, so as not to risk paint loss or design disruption during maintenance. The watch is offered in as-is condition, leaving servicing to the discretion of the next owner. That said, an overhaul can be arranged upon request. Although now synonymous with space exploration, the Speedmaster was originally conceived as a pure motorsport chronograph, unrelated to space. It was also the first watch in the world to feature a tachymeter scale on the outer bezel rather than the dial. In 1959, the model underwent a significant update, replacing the arrow hands with alpha hands and introducing a black aluminum bezel for improved legibility. NASA was in search of a chronograph robust enough to survive the harsh conditions of space, and after rigorous testing, the Speedmaster emerged victorious. The rest is history: the Speedmaster accompanied the Apollo 11 astronauts in 1969 during the first manned lunar landing, cementing its place as an icon of horological and human achievement.
