COMMENT

オメガ シーマスター300 、Ref.2913です。1957年に発表された2913-1を皮切りに、1961年の2913-8まで、8つの系譜が存在します。本品は1958年製造の-3、ブロードアロー時針とストレート秒針を採用しています。ダイヤルには、オメガが黒文字盤において時計史上最も早く開発したとされるマットダイヤルを採用。視認性と機能性を追求した設計の証といえます。レターとラインは下地出し、ルミナスはレイルマスターRef.2914と同様の掘り込み仕様です。ムーブメントは、1950年代後半にCal.552へ移行する前の、Cal.501を搭載しています。

程よく使い込まれたケースは小キズこそありますが、ケースバックの刻印がしっかりと残る良好な状態です。ベゼルインサートは5の位置に剥離や、45あたりにひび割れが見られます。ダイヤルは経年変化により、まだらにブラウンへと変化しており、特に20分から40分にかけて顕著です。針とダイヤルのラジウムは濃く焼けたベージュカラーへと変化し、ヴィンテージらしい味わいを感じさせます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

オメガダイバーズウォッチの源流といえるRef.2913は、回転ベゼルを備えた初の本格ダイバー。ベゼルインサートは元来の作りが、通常の仕様で剥離が生じやすいです。この部分につきましては、現存していないものや修復がなされたものが常であるとお考えください。しかしその未完成の規格で世に出されたことが、腕時計史であり、その後の長い歴史の中で確立されたオメガの技術とデザインの原点を存分に味わうことができるでしょう。

オメガシーマスター300は防水性と高耐圧性、耐衝撃性などに特化したモデルとして1955年に誕生。潜水作業自体もその手法を模索している時代に、ダイビングのプロユースを前提として開発されています。たった一本のダイバーズウォッチから、永遠の時計史に残る「ムーンウォッチ」スピードマスターへと偉大な功績を受け継いでおり、その確立された技術力は今も多く語り継がれている名モデル。

The Omega Seamaster 300, Ref. 2913, was first introduced in 1957 with the 2913-1, evolving through eight iterations until the 2913-8 in 1961. This particular example, produced in 1958, is a 2913-3, featuring a broad arrow hour hand and a straight seconds hand. The dial showcases one of the earliest matte dials ever developed by Omega for a black watch face, emphasizing both legibility and functionality. The lettering and markings are executed in a negative relief style, while the luminous material is applied in a recessed manner, similar to that of the Railmaster Ref. 2914. Powering the watch is the Caliber 501, used before the transition to Caliber 552 in the late 1950s.

The case has been well-worn yet remains in good condition, with minor scratches but a clearly visible case back engraving. The bezel insert shows signs of aging, including some peeling near the 5-minute mark and a crack around 45. The dial has developed a mottled brown patina over time, particularly between the 20- and 40-minute markers. The radium lume on the hands and dial has aged into a deep beige tone, adding to its vintage character. The watch has been fully serviced by our company.

As the first true dive watch from Omega to feature a rotating bezel, the Ref. 2913 represents the genesis of Omega's diver's watch lineage. The bezel inserts of these early models were prone to peeling due to their original construction, making intact examples extremely rare or often restored. However, this inherent imperfection is a testament to its place in watchmaking history. This timepiece allows one to experience the origins of Omega’s enduring technical and design legacy, refined through decades of innovation.
