COMMENT

縦ヘアライン仕上げのシルバーダイヤルに、繊細なブルースチール針を組み合わせた1939年製のオメガ手巻きモデルです。針先が細く伸びるシルエットは当時のモダンデザインを象徴し、ブラックプリントのアラビアインデックスはアール・デコ様式に見られる幾何学的で整然とした書体で描かれています。6時位置のスモールセコンドは、わずかに段差を設け、同心円状のギヨシェが立体感を添えています。シンプルな構成ながら、時代性と緊張感のある美しさを備えたフェイスデザインです。搭載ムーブメントはCal.26.5 T3。後にオメガを代表する30mmキャリバーへと発展する過渡期のムーブメントであり、堅牢で整備性に優れた設計です。小型ながら高精度を誇り、当時のオメガの技術的完成度の高さを物語ります。

ダイヤルはわずかにエイジングが見られるものの、プリントは艶を保ったまま鮮明。ブルースチール針には経年によるわずかな色の変化が見られますが、深みのある青が美しく残っています。ケースは小キズこそありますが、全体として磨きの少ない良好なコンディションを維持。鏡面仕上げの光沢が当時の質感を伝えています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

1930年代後期のオメガは、機能とデザインを両立させるバランス感覚において群を抜いていました。本作もその一例であり、過剰な装飾を排しながらも、針・フォント・仕上げのすべてに精度と洗練を感じさせます。戦前のスイス時計が持つ静謐な美と、機械式時計の原点ともいえる誠実な設計思想を体現した一本です。

An Omega timepiece equipped with the Cal. 26.5 movement. The mid-size case features a seamless design from the sides to the lugs, with a six-notch screw-back case. The dial has a vertical silver hairline finish, complemented by black-printed Arabic numerals, blued steel hands, and a small seconds display, achieving a well-balanced aesthetic.  

The Cal. 26.5 was a pivotal hand-wound movement that led Omega's watchmaking before the introduction of the 30mm caliber. It came in various configurations, including center seconds and shock-resistant models, offering an impressive level of stability for its era.  

The case shows some signs of use but remains in overall good condition. The dial has aged into a champagne gold tone, enhancing its vintage appeal. The blued steel hands have developed a patina, adding to the sophisticated charm unique to vintage timepieces. Despite the effects of aging, the printed indices remain intact, maintaining excellent legibility. The watch has been disassembled and serviced by our company.  

The time period was World War II—an era that demanded simple yet practical sports watches with waterproofing, shock resistance, and nighttime readability. The minimalist design of watches from this period embodies the timeless essence of wristwatches. With proper maintenance already performed, this timepiece is ready for continued use with confidence.
