COMMENT

Chrono（クロノ）とOlympic（オリンピック）を組み合わせた名を持つ「Chronolympic」。深みのあるブルーダイヤルに2カウンターのホワイトインダイヤルを配したリバースパンダデザインが印象的です。3時位置の30分積算計には、視認性を高めるために5分ごとに赤いラインが施され、外周の精緻なミニッツスケールと相まって高い判読性を実現。ホワイトのペンシルハンドに加え、鮮やかなイエローのクロノグラフ針がアクセントとなり、視認性とデザイン性を兼ね備えています。さらに希少なオリジナルブレスレットRef.6040を装備しています。

ケースには軽度な使用傷こそ見られますが、全体的に良好なコンディションを維持。ダイヤルはエイジングの影響がなく鮮やかで、左右の積算計も変色や経年の兆候がなく鮮明な状態です。針は透き通るようなホワイトを保ち、ブルーダイヤルとのコントラストを美しく際立たせています。インデックスはくすみや傷のないクリアな状態で、針やインデックスに塗布された夜光塗料は均一にベージュへと変化し、ヴィンテージらしい趣を添えています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

「Chronolympic」は、サーチナが誇る「DS（Double Security）」コンセプトを採用した代表的なモデルのひとつです。1959年に導入されたこの技術は、フローティングムーブメント構造による耐衝撃性と優れた防水性を実現し、スポーツウォッチとしての堅牢さを確立しました。複雑なクロノグラフ機構を備えながらも高い耐久性を誇り、登山家やスポーツ選手に愛用された背景を持ちます。特に日本の登山家・三浦雄一郎氏が愛用したことでも知られ、冒険的精神とスポーティなデザインを融合させた、サーチナならではの名作クロノグラフです。

1888年にスイスのグレンヘンで設立された時計工場から始まります。ラインナップはスポーツウォッチが中心です。日本ではあまり馴染みがありませんが、 120年以上続く歴史ある時計メーカーで、現在はスウォッチ・グループに参加しています。

The “Chronolympic,” a name that fuses Chronograph and Olympic, features a striking reverse panda design with a deep blue dial and twin white sub-registers. The 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock is marked with red lines at five-minute intervals for enhanced legibility, while the finely graduated minute track around the perimeter ensures precise reading. White pencil hands are paired with a vivid yellow chronograph hand, adding both visual clarity and bold contrast. This example is further distinguished by its rare original bracelet, Ref.6040.

The case shows only light signs of wear and has been well preserved overall. The dial remains vivid with no visible aging, and both sub-registers retain their crisp white tone without discoloration. The hands preserve their original white finish, standing out beautifully against the blue dial. The indexes are clean and blemish-free, while the luminous material on both hands and markers has aged evenly to an attractive beige, lending the watch a warm vintage character. The Chronolympic is among the hallmark models of Certina’s DS (Double Security) concept. Introduced in 1959, this technology combined a floating-movement construction with superior water resistance, ensuring both durability and shock protection—ideal for demanding sports use. Despite its complex chronograph mechanism, the watch offered remarkable robustness, making it a trusted companion for mountaineers and athletes. Notably, Japanese alpinist Yuichiro Miura famously wore a Chronolympic, further underscoring the model’s spirit of adventure and sporting pedigree.

Founded in Grenchen, Switzerland, in 1888, Certina has specialized in robust sports watches for well over a century. Though less widely known in Japan, the brand boasts a history spanning more than 120 years and today forms part of the Swatch Group.
