COMMENT

幅広のベゼルと力強いラグが際立つケースは、初期シーマスターならではの重厚な造形です。ブラックミラー仕上げのダイヤルにすべてギルト仕様のレターを配しており、ダイヤモンドカットのインデックスが鋭い反射を描きます。ドーフィン型の分針と細身の秒針はミニッツスケールに正確に沿い、端正な緊張感を保ちながら高い視認性を確保しています。

ケースは打痕や目立つ傷のないミントな状態を維持。リューズや裏蓋のエンブレムは明瞭に残り、輪郭をはっきりと残しています。ダイヤルは大きな傷や色味の変化が見られず、艶やかな状態を保っています。針とインデックスに塗布された夜光はブラウンへと落ち着き、全体の調和を損なわない自然なエイジングを見せております。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

1950年代のシーマスターにおけるブラックミラーダイヤルは生産数が限られ、現存数も多くはありません。とりわけ当時の光沢をしっかり宿した個体は希少性が高く、本機はその条件を満たす一例です。艶やかなブラックに浮かぶギルトレターと鋭利なインデックスの組み合わせは、実用機としての出自を超えた気品を帯びています。機能性を基盤としながら意匠面でも高い完成度を示す、同系譜の中でも印象的な存在です。

The case, defined by its broad bezel and powerful lugs, reflects the substantial architecture characteristic of early Seamaster models. The black mirror-finished dial is paired entirely with gilt lettering, while diamond-cut indexes create sharp, faceted reflections. The dauphine minute hand and slender seconds hand align precisely with the minute scale, maintaining refined tension while ensuring excellent legibility.

The case remains in mint condition, free from dents or noticeable scratches. The crown and caseback emblem are clearly preserved, with crisp contours intact. The dial shows no significant scratches or discoloration and retains its glossy surface. The luminous material applied to the hands and indexes has mellowed to a warm brown tone, presenting natural aging that complements the overall harmony. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Black mirror dials from 1950s Seamaster production were manufactured in limited numbers, and surviving examples are scarce. Those that retain their original depth of gloss are particularly uncommon, and this piece stands as one such example.
