IWC

COMMENT

Calatraca Case

COMMENT

The IWC with its crisp silver color exudes a sense of cleanliness. The case, divided into three phases known as the Calatrava case, presents a beautiful view from the side, with satin finishing extending from the upper and lower mirror-finished surfaces to the lugs. Inspired by Patek Philippe's Calatrava, which was widely used by many manufacturers at the time, the Inter's structured atmosphere is quite unique. The dial features bullet-shaped indexes and pearl-drop minute dots, both delicate designs that embody Inter's personality. The distinctive hands, occasionally seen in Inter watches, have a flat mirror finish on the upper surface of the hour and minute hands. I can only recall seeing similar hands in Seiko watches among other brands.

The case, showing no signs of polishing, is particularly well-preserved, with edges that remain as sharp as they were at the time of manufacture. The flat appearance of the lug tops allows for a thorough examination of its excellent condition. The dial is in fantastic condition, with a silver-white hairline finish that exudes transparency. The crystal features the original Cyclops lens, a rarity to be preserved. The hands and indexes also retain a good gloss.

Its moderate thickness and well-fitting size make it suitable for continued use across generations.

The in-house cal.8531 movement boasts excellent winding efficiency thanks to its Pellaton system structure. Additionally, the calendar placement towards the inside of the dial, avoiding interference with the 3 o'clock index, maintains a clean design. This watch is one we confidently offer maintenance services for at our store.
