Among the widely recognized vintage Datejusts, this Ref.1601 stands out as a rare example, crafted entirely in 18k solid yellow gold. The precious metal case of the Ref.1601 features similar lugs to the Day-Date, with no drilled holes, exuding a refined dress style. Its dial is a glossy black mirror, featuring the highly sought-after layout with letters and minutes on the base. The indices at 6 and 9 o'clock sport a distinctive shape, known as the "doorstop" indices, popularized by the Day-Date. Manufactured in 1971, it features baton hands and "T SWISS T" at 6 o'clock.

The glossy dial remains flawless, perfectly preserving the luster, color, and texture of its era, impressing with its powerful presence when held. Notably, it exhibits no aging typically seen on mirror dials, while the indices and applied crown logo retain their mirror finish without any dullness. Minor aging is evident on the dot luminous material. The case condition is excellent, maintaining the proportions and original size of the Datejust. It has been disassembled and cleaned by us, confirming a power reserve of over 48 hours.
